      <verse number='2'><strongs number="1571">Also</strongs>in time <strongs number="865 8032">past</strongs>, when <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>us, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="1961">wast</strongs>he that leddest <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>and <strongs number="935">broughtest</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>to thee <strongs number="859">Thou</strongs>shalt <strongs number="7462">feed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>shalt <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>a <strongs number="5057">captain</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>So <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2205">elders</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>to <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>; and <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3772">made</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">league</strongs>with them in <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: and they <strongs number="4886">anointed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="1732">David</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="1121">old</strongs>when he began to <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs>, <em> and </em>he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="705">forty</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>In <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>and <strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="2320">months</strongs>: and in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs>and <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>and <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>, the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>: which <strongs number="559">spoke</strongs>unto <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3588 518">Except</strongs>thou take <strongs number="5493">away</strongs>the <strongs number="5787">blind</strongs>and the <strongs number="6455">lame</strongs>, thou shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>come <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="2008">hither</strongs>: <strongs number="559">thinking</strongs>, <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3808">cannot</strongs>come <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="2008">hither</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>on <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">Whosoever</strongs>getteth <strongs number="5060">up</strongs>to the <strongs number="6794">gutter</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smiteth</strongs>the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="6455">lame</strongs>and the <strongs number="5787">blind</strongs>, <em> that </em><em> are </em><strongs number="8130">hated</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>'s <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>, <em> he </em><em> shall </em><em> be </em><em> chief </em><em> and </em><em> captain </em>. <strongs number="5921 3651">Wherefore</strongs>they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="5787">blind</strongs>and the <strongs number="6455">lame</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>So <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in the <strongs number="4686">fort</strongs>, and <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>it the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="1129">built</strongs>round <strongs number="5439">about</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="4407">Millo</strongs>and <strongs number="1004">inward</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>went <strongs number="1980 1980">on</strongs>, and grew <strongs number="1419">great</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And <strongs number="2438">Hiram</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="6865">Tyre</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and <strongs number="730">cedar</strongs><strongs number="6086">trees</strongs>, and <strongs number="2796 6086">carpenters</strongs>, and <strongs number="2796 18 7023">masons</strongs>: and they <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>a <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3045">perceived</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had <strongs number="3559">established</strongs>him <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>he had <strongs number="5375">exalted</strongs>his <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs>for his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>'s <strongs number="5668">sake</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3947">took</strongs><em> him </em><strongs number="5750">more</strongs><strongs number="6370">concubines</strongs>and <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, <strongs number="310">after</strongs>he was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 2275">Hebron</strongs>: and there were <strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>and <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs><strongs number="3205">born</strongs>to <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='15'><strongs number="2984">Ibhar</strongs>also, and <strongs number="474">Elishua</strongs>, and <strongs number="5298">Nepheg</strongs>, and <strongs number="3309">Japhia</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And <strongs number="476">Elishama</strongs>, and <strongs number="450">Eliada</strongs>, and <strongs number="467">Eliphalet</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>But when the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>they had <strongs number="4886">anointed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="1245">seek</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>; and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><em> of </em><em> it </em>, and went <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4686">hold</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>The <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>also <strongs number="935">came</strongs>and spread <strongs number="5203">themselves</strongs>in the <strongs number="6010">valley</strongs>of <strongs number="7497">Rephaim</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7592">inquired</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Shall I go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>? wilt thou <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs>them into mine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>? And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, Go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>I will doubtless <strongs number="5414 5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>into thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="1188">Baal</strongs>-perazim, and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>them <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath broken forth <strongs number="6555">upon</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>mine <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>me, as the <strongs number="6556">breach</strongs>of <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>. <strongs number="5921 3651">Therefore</strongs>he <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="4725">place</strongs><strongs number="1188">Baal</strongs>-perazim. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>they <strongs number="5800">left</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="6091">images</strongs>, and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="5375">burned</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="3254">again</strongs>, and spread <strongs number="5203">themselves</strongs>in the <strongs number="6010">valley</strongs>of <strongs number="7497">Rephaim</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And when <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7592">inquired</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thou shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>; <em> but </em>fetch a <strongs number="5437 413">compass</strongs><strongs number="310">behind</strongs>them, and <strongs number="935">come</strongs>upon them over <strongs number="4480 4136">against</strongs>the mulberry <strongs number="1057">trees</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>And let it <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, when thou <strongs number="8085">hearest</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6963">sound</strongs>of a <strongs number="6807">going</strongs>in the <strongs number="7218">tops</strongs>of the mulberry <strongs number="1057">trees</strongs>, that <strongs number="227">then</strongs>thou shalt <strongs number="2782">bestir</strongs>thyself: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="227">then</strongs>shall the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>thee, to <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs>the <strongs number="4264">host</strongs>of the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="3651">so</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had <strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>him; and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 1387">Geba</strongs>until thou <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="1507">Gazer</strongs>. </verse>
