      <verse number='1'><strongs number="310">After</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>in a <strongs number="4236">vision</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3372">Fear</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>, <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>: <strongs number="595">I</strongs><em> am </em>thy <strongs number="4043">shield</strongs>, <em> and </em>thy <strongs number="3966">exceeding</strongs><strongs number="7235">great</strongs><strongs number="7939">reward</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>wilt thou <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>me, seeing <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="6185">childless</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1121 4943">steward</strongs>of my <strongs number="1004">house</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="1931">this</strongs><strongs number="461">Eliezer</strongs>of <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="2005">Behold</strongs>, to me thou hast <strongs number="5414">given</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>: and, <strongs number="2009">lo</strongs>, one <strongs number="1121">born</strongs>in my <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>is mine <strongs number="3423">heir</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> came </em><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="2088">This</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be thine <strongs number="3423">heir</strongs>; <strongs number="3588 518">but</strongs>he <strongs number="834">that</strongs>shall come <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>out of thine own <strongs number="4480 4578">bowels</strongs>shall be thine <strongs number="3423">heir</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And he brought him <strongs number="3318 *853">forth</strongs><strongs number="2351">abroad</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="5027">Look</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>toward <strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>, and <strongs number="5608">tell</strongs>the <strongs number="3556">stars</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>thou be <strongs number="3201">able</strongs>to <strongs number="5608">number</strongs>them: and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="3541">So</strongs>shall thy <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And he <strongs number="539">believed</strongs>in the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; and he <strongs number="2803">counted</strongs>it to him for <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="3318">brought</strongs>thee out of <strongs number="4480 218">Ur</strongs>of the <strongs number="3778">Chaldees</strongs>, to <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>thee <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>to <strongs number="3423">inherit</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">whereby</strongs>shall I <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>I shall <strongs number="3423">inherit</strongs>it? </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="3947">Take</strongs>me an <strongs number="5697">heifer</strongs>of three years <strongs number="8027">old</strongs>, and a she <strongs number="5795">goat</strongs>of three years <strongs number="8027">old</strongs>, and a <strongs number="352">ram</strongs>of three years <strongs number="8027">old</strongs>, and a <strongs number="8449">turtledove</strongs>, and a young <strongs number="1469">pigeon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And he <strongs number="3947">took</strongs>unto him <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs>, and <strongs number="1334">divided</strongs>them in the <strongs number="8432">midst</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">laid</strongs><strongs number="376">each</strongs><strongs number="1335">piece</strongs>one <strongs number="7125">against</strongs><strongs number="7453">another</strongs>: but the <strongs number="6833">birds</strongs><strongs number="1334">divided</strongs>he <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And when the <strongs number="5861">fowls</strongs>came <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="6297">carcasses</strongs>, <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>drove them <strongs number="5380 *853">away</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And when the <strongs number="8121">sun</strongs>was going <strongs number="935">down</strongs>, a deep <strongs number="8639">sleep</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>; and, <strongs number="2009">lo</strongs>, a <strongs number="367">horror</strongs>of <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="2825">darkness</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto <strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>, Know of a <strongs number="3045 3045">surety</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>thy <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>a <strongs number="1616">stranger</strongs>in a <strongs number="776">land</strongs><em> that </em><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>theirs, and shall <strongs number="5647">serve</strongs>them; and they shall <strongs number="6031">afflict</strongs>them <strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>that <strongs number="1471">nation</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>they shall <strongs number="5647">serve</strongs>, will <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="1777">judge</strongs>: and <strongs number="310 3651">afterward</strongs>shall they come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>with <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="7399">substance</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>shalt <strongs number="935">go</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>in <strongs number="7965">peace</strongs>; thou shalt be <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>in a <strongs number="2896">good</strongs>old <strongs number="7872">age</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>But in the <strongs number="7243">fourth</strongs><strongs number="1755">generation</strongs>they shall come hither <strongs number="7725 2008">again</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>of the <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5704 2008">yet</strongs><strongs number="8003">full</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that, when the <strongs number="8121">sun</strongs>went <strongs number="935">down</strongs>, and it <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="5939">dark</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>a <strongs number="6227">smoking</strongs><strongs number="8574">furnace</strongs>, and a <strongs number="784">burning</strongs><strongs number="3940">lamp</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="5674">passed</strongs><strongs number="996">between</strongs><strongs number="428">those</strongs><strongs number="1506">pieces</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>In the <strongs number="1931">same</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="3772">made</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="87">Abram</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Unto thy <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>have I <strongs number="5414">given</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, from the <strongs number="4480 5104">river</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="5104">river</strongs>, the <strongs number="5104">river</strongs><strongs number="6578">Euphrates</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='20'>And the <strongs number="2850">Hittites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="6522">Perizzites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="7497">Rephaims</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1622">Girgashites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>. </verse>
