      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="6438">chief</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <em> even </em>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, presented <strongs number="3320">themselves</strongs>in the <strongs number="6951">assembly</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376 7273">footmen</strongs>that <strongs number="8025">drew</strongs><strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>(Now the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>were gone <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="4709">Mizpeh</strongs>.) Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="1696">Tell</strongs><em> us </em>, <strongs number="349">how</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="7451">wickedness</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And the <strongs number="376 3881">Levite</strongs>, the <strongs number="376">husband</strongs>of the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>that was <strongs number="7523">slain</strongs>, <strongs number="6030">answered</strongs>and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I <strongs number="935">came</strongs>into <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> belongeth </em>to <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs>and my <strongs number="6370">concubine</strongs>, to <strongs number="3885">lodge</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And the <strongs number="1167">men</strongs>of <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs><strongs number="6965">rose</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>me, and beset the house round <strongs number="5437 *853 1004">about</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>me by <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="1819">thought</strongs>to have <strongs number="2026">slain</strongs>me: and my <strongs number="6370">concubine</strongs>have they <strongs number="6031">forced</strongs>, that she is <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And I <strongs number="270">took</strongs>my <strongs number="6370">concubine</strongs>, and cut her in <strongs number="5408">pieces</strongs>, and <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>her throughout <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7704">country</strongs>of the <strongs number="5159">inheritance</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they have <strongs number="6213">committed</strongs><strongs number="2154">lewdness</strongs>and <strongs number="5039">folly</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='10'>And we will <strongs number="3947">take</strongs><strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>of a <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>throughout <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and a <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>of a <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>, and a <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>out of ten <strongs number="7233">thousand</strongs>, to <strongs number="3947">fetch</strongs><strongs number="6720">victual</strongs>for the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, that they may <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>, when they <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="1387">Gibeah</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5039">folly</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>they have <strongs number="6213">wrought</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>So <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>were <strongs number="622">gathered</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, knit <strongs number="2270">together</strongs>as <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>through <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="7451">wickedness</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>is <strongs number="1961">done</strongs>among you? </verse>

      <verse number='14'>But the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>gathered themselves <strongs number="622">together</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>unto <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>, to go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>were <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs>at <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">time</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 5892">cities</strongs><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>that <strongs number="8025">drew</strongs><strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, <strongs number="905">beside</strongs>the <strongs number="4480 3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>, which were <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="970">chosen</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>Among <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="5971">people</strongs><em> there </em><em> were </em><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="977">chosen</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="334 3027 3225">left</strongs>-handed; every <strongs number="3605 2088">one</strongs>could <strongs number="7049">sling</strongs><strongs number="68">stones</strongs><strongs number="413">at</strongs>a <strongs number="8185">hair</strongs><em> breadth </em>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="2398">miss</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="905">beside</strongs><strongs number="4480 1144">Benjamin</strongs>, were <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs><strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>that <strongs number="8025">drew</strongs><strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>: <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2088">these</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>, and went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to the house of <strongs number="1008">God</strongs>, and asked <strongs number="7592">counsel</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4310">Which</strongs>of us shall go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="8462">first</strongs>to the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>?       <verse number='19'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>rose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>in the <strongs number="1242">morning</strongs>, and <strongs number="2583">encamped</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs><strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>; and the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>put themselves in <strongs number="6186">array</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">fight</strongs><strongs number="854">against</strongs>them <strongs number="413">at</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>came <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>, and destroyed <strongs number="7843">down</strongs>to the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>of the <strongs number="3478">Israelites</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="7125">against</strongs>them out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>the <strongs number="8145">second</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, and <strongs number="7843">destroyed</strongs>down to the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5750">again</strongs><strongs number="8083 6240">eighteen</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>; <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="8025">drew</strongs>the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='28'>And <strongs number="6372">Phinehas</strongs>, the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="499">Eleazar</strongs>, the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="175">Aaron</strongs>, <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>it in <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>,) <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Shall I <strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="3254">again</strongs>go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>my <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>, <strongs number="518">or</strongs>shall I <strongs number="2308">cease</strongs>?       <verse number='30'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>on the <strongs number="7992">third</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, and put themselves in <strongs number="6186">array</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>, as at other <strongs number="6471 6471">times</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='37'>And the liers in <strongs number="693">wait</strongs><strongs number="2363">hasted</strongs>, and <strongs number="6584">rushed</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>; and the liers in <strongs number="693">wait</strongs>drew <em> themselves </em><strongs number="4900">along</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='38'>Now there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>an appointed <strongs number="4150">sign</strongs>between the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>and the liers in <strongs number="693">wait</strongs>, that they should make a <strongs number="7235">great</strongs><strongs number="4864">flame</strongs>with <strongs number="6227">smoke</strongs>rise <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='39'>And when the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="2015">retired</strongs>in the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>, <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="2490">began</strongs>to <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs><em> and </em><strongs number="2491">kill</strongs>of the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>about <strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs><strongs number="376">persons</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="389">Surely</strongs><strongs number="1931">they</strongs>are smitten <strongs number="5062 5062">down</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>us, as <em> in </em>the <strongs number="7223">first</strongs><strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='40'>But when the <strongs number="4864">flame</strongs><strongs number="2490">began</strongs>to arise <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>with a <strongs number="5982">pillar</strongs>of <strongs number="6227">smoke</strongs>, the <strongs number="1144">Benjamites</strongs><strongs number="6437">looked</strongs><strongs number="310">behind</strongs>them, and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, the <strongs number="3632">flame</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>ascended <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>And when the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>turned <strongs number="2015">again</strongs>, the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>were <strongs number="926">amazed</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>was <strongs number="5060">come</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='42'>Therefore they <strongs number="6437">turned</strongs><em> their </em><em> backs </em><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>of the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>; but the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs><strongs number="1692">overtook</strongs>them; and them <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> came </em>out of the <strongs number="4480 5892">cities</strongs>they <strongs number="7843">destroyed</strongs>in the <strongs number="8432">midst</strongs>of them. </verse>
      <verse number='43'><em> Thus </em>they enclosed the Benjamites round <strongs number="3803 *853 1144">about</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="7291">chased</strongs>them, <em> and </em>trod them <strongs number="1869">down</strongs>with <strongs number="4496">ease</strongs>over <strongs number="5704 5227">against</strongs><strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>toward the <strongs number="4480 4217 8121">sunrising</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='44'>And there <strongs number="5307">fell</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="8083 6240">eighteen</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>; <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="2428">valor</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='45'>And they <strongs number="6437">turned</strongs>and <strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>toward the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5553">rock</strongs>of <strongs number="7417">Rimmon</strongs>: and they <strongs number="5953">gleaned</strongs>of them in the <strongs number="4546">highways</strongs><strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>; and pursued <strongs number="1692">hard</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>them <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="1440">Gidom</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>two <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='46'>So that <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>which <strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="1961">were</strongs><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>that <strongs number="8025">drew</strongs>the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>; <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="2428">valor</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='48'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>turned <strongs number="7725">again</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>them with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, as well the <strongs number="4974">men</strongs>of <em> every </em><strongs number="4480 5892">city</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">as</strongs>the <strongs number="929">beast</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that came to <strongs number="4672">hand</strongs>: <strongs number="1571">also</strongs>they <strongs number="7971">set</strongs>on <strongs number="784">fire</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>that they came <strongs number="4672">to</strongs>. </verse>
