      <verse number='1'><strongs number="1352">Wherefore</strongs>when we could no <strongs number="3371">longer</strongs><strongs number="4722">forbear</strongs>, we thought it <strongs number="2106">good</strongs>to be <strongs number="2641">left</strongs><strongs number="1722">at</strongs><strongs number="116">Athens</strongs><strongs number="3441">alone</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='2'><strongs number="2532">And</strongs><strongs number="3992">sent</strongs><strongs number="5095">Timothy</strongs>, <strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="80">brother</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1249">minister</strongs>of <strongs number="2316">God</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs>fellow <strongs number="4904">laborer</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2098">gospel</strongs>of <strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>, to <strongs number="4741">establish</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>to <strongs number="3870">comfort</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs><strongs number="4012">concerning</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="4102">faith</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='3'>That no <strongs number="3367">man</strongs>should be <strongs number="4525">moved</strongs><strongs number="1722">by</strongs><strongs number="5025">these</strongs><strongs number="2347">afflictions</strongs>: <strongs number="1063">for</strongs><strongs number="846">yourselves</strongs><strongs number="1492">know</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs>we are <strongs number="2749">appointed</strongs><strongs number="1519 5124">thereunto</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs><strongs number="2532">verily</strongs>, <strongs number="3753">when</strongs>we <strongs number="2258">were</strongs><strongs number="4314">with</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>, we told you <strongs number="4302 5213">before</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs>we <strongs number="3195">should</strongs>suffer <strongs number="2346">tribulation</strongs>; <strongs number="2532">even</strongs><strongs number="2531">as</strongs>it came to <strongs number="1096">pass</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>ye <strongs number="1492">know</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>For this <strongs number="1223 5124">cause</strongs>, when <strongs number="2504">I</strongs>could no <strongs number="3371">longer</strongs><strongs number="4722">forbear</strongs>, I <strongs number="3992">sent</strongs>to <strongs number="1097">know</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="4102">faith</strongs>, lest by some <strongs number="3381">means</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3985">tempter</strongs>have <strongs number="3985">tempted</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2873">labor</strongs><strongs number="1096">be</strongs><strongs number="1519">in</strongs><strongs number="2756">vain</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs><strongs number="737">now</strongs>when <strongs number="5095">Timothy</strongs><strongs number="2064">came</strongs><strongs number="575">from</strongs><strongs number="5216">you</strongs><strongs number="4314">unto</strongs><strongs number="2248">us</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>brought us good <strongs number="2097 2254">tidings</strongs>of <strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="4102">faith</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="26">charity</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs>ye <strongs number="2192">have</strongs><strongs number="18">good</strongs><strongs number="3417">remembrance</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">us</strongs><strongs number="3842">always</strongs>, desiring <strongs number="1971">greatly</strongs>to <strongs number="1492">see</strongs><strongs number="2248">us</strongs>, <strongs number="2509">as</strongs><strongs number="2249">we</strongs><strongs number="2532">also</strongs><em> to </em><em> see </em><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="1223 5124">Therefore</strongs>, <strongs number="80">brethren</strongs>, we were <strongs number="3870">comforted</strongs><strongs number="1909">over</strongs><strongs number="5213">you</strongs><strongs number="1909">in</strongs><strongs number="3956">all</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2347">affliction</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="318">distress</strongs><strongs number="1223">by</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="4102">faith</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="3754">For</strongs><strongs number="3568">now</strongs>we <strongs number="2198">live</strongs>, <strongs number="1437">if</strongs><strongs number="5210">ye</strongs>stand <strongs number="4739">fast</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs>the <strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='11'><strongs number="1161">Now</strongs><strongs number="2316">God</strongs><strongs number="846">himself</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="3962">Father</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>, <strongs number="2720">direct</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="3598">way</strongs><strongs number="4314">unto</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="1161">And</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs>make you to <strongs number="4121 5209">increase</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="4052">abound</strongs>in <strongs number="26">love</strongs>one toward <strongs number="240 1519">another</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1519">toward</strongs><strongs number="3956">all</strongs><em> men, </em><strongs number="2532">even</strongs><strongs number="2509">as</strongs><strongs number="2249">we</strongs><em> do </em><strongs number="1519">toward</strongs><strongs number="5209">you</strongs>: </verse>
