      <verse number='1'>Give <strongs number="238">ear</strongs>, O ye <strongs number="8064">heavens</strongs>, and I will <strongs number="1696">speak</strongs>; and <strongs number="8085">hear</strongs>, O <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>, the <strongs number="561">words</strongs>of my <strongs number="6310">mouth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>My <strongs number="3948">doctrine</strongs>shall <strongs number="6201">drop</strongs>as the <strongs number="4306">rain</strongs>, my <strongs number="565">speech</strongs>shall <strongs number="5140">distill</strongs>as the <strongs number="2919">dew</strongs>, as the small <strongs number="8164">rain</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the tender <strongs number="1877">herb</strongs>, and as the <strongs number="7241">showers</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="6212">grass</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>I will <strongs number="7121">publish</strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: <strongs number="3051">ascribe</strongs>ye <strongs number="1433">greatness</strongs>unto our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><em> He </em><em> is </em>the <strongs number="6697">Rock</strongs>, his <strongs number="6467">work</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="8549">perfect</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>: a <strongs number="410">God</strongs>of <strongs number="530">truth</strongs>and <strongs number="369">without</strongs><strongs number="5766">iniquity</strongs>, <strongs number="6662">just</strongs>and <strongs number="3477">right</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>They have <strongs number="7843">corrupted</strongs>themselves, their <strongs number="3971">spot</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><em> the </em><em> spot </em>of his <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>: <em> they </em><em> are </em>a <strongs number="6141">perverse</strongs>and <strongs number="6618">crooked</strongs><strongs number="1755">generation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Do ye <strongs number="2063">thus</strongs><strongs number="1580">requite</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, O <strongs number="5036">foolish</strongs><strongs number="5971">people</strongs>and <strongs number="3808 2450">unwise</strongs>? <em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs><em> that </em>hath <strongs number="7069">bought</strongs>thee? hath <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>not <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>thee, and <strongs number="3559">established</strongs>thee? </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="2142">Remember</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>of <strongs number="5769">old</strongs>, <strongs number="995">consider</strongs>the <strongs number="8141">years</strongs>of many <strongs number="1755 1755">generations</strongs>: <strongs number="7592">ask</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, and he will <strongs number="5046">show</strongs>thee; thy <strongs number="2205">elders</strongs>, and they will <strongs number="559">tell</strongs>thee. </verse>

      <verse number='9'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>'s <strongs number="2506">portion</strongs><em> is </em>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>; <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="2256">lot</strongs>of his <strongs number="5159">inheritance</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>He <strongs number="4672">found</strongs>him in a <strongs number="4057">desert</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and in the <strongs number="8414">waste</strongs><strongs number="3214">howling</strongs><strongs number="3452">wilderness</strongs>; he led him <strongs number="5437">about</strongs>, he <strongs number="995">instructed</strongs>him, he <strongs number="5341">kept</strongs>him as the <strongs number="380">apple</strongs>of his <strongs number="5869">eye</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='15'>But <strongs number="3484">Jeshurun</strongs>waxed <strongs number="8080">fat</strongs>, and <strongs number="1163">kicked</strongs>: thou art waxen <strongs number="8080">fat</strongs>, thou art grown <strongs number="5666">thick</strongs>, thou art <strongs number="3780">covered</strongs><em> with </em><em> fatness </em>; then he <strongs number="5203">forsook</strongs><strongs number="433">God</strongs><em> which </em><strongs number="6213">made</strongs>him, and lightly <strongs number="5034">esteemed</strongs>the <strongs number="6697">Rock</strongs>of his <strongs number="3444">salvation</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='19'>And when the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><em> it </em>, he <strongs number="5006">abhorred</strongs><em> them </em>, because of the <strongs number="4480 3708">provoking</strongs>of his <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>, and of his <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I will <strongs number="5641">hide</strongs>my <strongs number="6440">face</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>them, I will <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs>their <strongs number="319">end</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><em> are </em>a very <strongs number="8419">froward</strongs><strongs number="1755">generation</strongs>, <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>in whom <em> is </em><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="529">faith</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='22'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>a <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>is <strongs number="6919">kindled</strongs>in mine <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="3344">burn</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="8482">lowest</strongs><strongs number="7585">hell</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="398">consume</strongs>the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>with her <strongs number="2981">increase</strongs>, and set on <strongs number="3857">fire</strongs>the <strongs number="4146">foundations</strongs>of the <strongs number="2022">mountains</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>I will <strongs number="5595">heap</strongs><strongs number="7451">mischiefs</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>them; I will <strongs number="3615">spend</strongs>mine <strongs number="2671">arrows</strongs>upon them. </verse>
      <verse number='24'><em> They </em><em> shall </em><em> be </em><strongs number="4198">burnt</strongs>with <strongs number="7458">hunger</strongs>, and <strongs number="3898">devoured</strongs>with burning <strongs number="7565">heat</strongs>, and with <strongs number="4815">bitter</strongs><strongs number="6986">destruction</strongs>: I will also <strongs number="7971">send</strongs>the <strongs number="8127">teeth</strongs>of <strongs number="929">beasts</strongs>upon them, <strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="2534">poison</strongs>of <strongs number="2119">serpents</strongs>of the <strongs number="6083">dust</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>The <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs><strongs number="4480 2351">without</strongs>, and <strongs number="367">terror</strongs><strongs number="4480 2315">within</strongs>, shall <strongs number="7921">destroy</strongs><strongs number="1571">both</strongs>the young <strongs number="970">man</strongs><strongs number="1571">and</strongs>the <strongs number="1330">virgin</strongs>, the <strongs number="3243">suckling</strongs><em> also </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="376">man</strongs>of gray <strongs number="7872">hairs</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>I <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I would scatter them into <strongs number="6284">corners</strongs>, I would make the <strongs number="2143">remembrance</strongs>of them to <strongs number="7673">cease</strongs>from among <strongs number="4480 376">men</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='27'>Were it not <strongs number="3884">that</strongs>I <strongs number="1481">feared</strongs>the <strongs number="3708">wrath</strongs>of the <strongs number="341">enemy</strongs>, <strongs number="6435">lest</strongs>their <strongs number="6862">adversaries</strongs>should behave themselves <strongs number="5234">strangely</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="6435">lest</strongs>they should <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, Our <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="7311">high</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6466">done</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='29'>O <strongs number="3863">that</strongs>they were <strongs number="2449">wise</strongs>, <em> that </em>they <strongs number="7919">understood</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs>, <em> that </em>they would <strongs number="995">consider</strongs>their latter <strongs number="319">end</strongs>! </verse>
      <verse number='30'><strongs number="349">How</strongs>should <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="7291">chase</strongs>a <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>, and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="5127">put</strongs>ten <strongs number="7233">thousand</strongs>to <strongs number="5127">flight</strongs>, <strongs number="518 3808 3588">except</strongs>their <strongs number="6697">Rock</strongs>had <strongs number="4376">sold</strongs>them, and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had shut them <strongs number="5462">up</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='31'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>their <strongs number="6697">rock</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>as our <strongs number="6697">Rock</strongs>, even our <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>themselves <em> being </em><strongs number="6414">judges</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='32'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>their <strongs number="1612">vine</strongs><em> is </em>of the <strongs number="4480 1612">vine</strongs>of <strongs number="5467">Sodom</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="4480 7709">fields</strongs>of <strongs number="6017">Gomorrah</strongs>: their <strongs number="6025">grapes</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="6025">grapes</strongs>of <strongs number="7219">gall</strongs>, their <strongs number="811">clusters</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="4846">bitter</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='33'>Their <strongs number="3196">wine</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="2534">poison</strongs>of <strongs number="8577">dragons</strongs>, and the <strongs number="393">cruel</strongs><strongs number="7219">venom</strongs>of <strongs number="6620">asps</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='34'><em> Is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1931">this</strongs>laid up in <strongs number="3647">store</strongs><strongs number="5978">with</strongs>me <em> and </em>sealed <strongs number="2856">up</strongs>among my <strongs number="214">treasures</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='35'>To me <em> belongeth </em><strongs number="5359">vengeance</strongs>, and <strongs number="8005">recompense</strongs>; their <strongs number="7272">foot</strongs>shall <strongs number="4131">slide</strongs>in <em> due </em><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>of their <strongs number="343">calamity</strongs><em> is </em>at <strongs number="7138">hand</strongs>, and the things that shall <strongs number="6264">come</strongs>upon them make <strongs number="2363">haste</strongs>. </verse>
