      <verse number='1'>The <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>, <strongs number="2962">before</strongs>that <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="5804">Gaza</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'><strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>rise <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 6828">north</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>an <strongs number="7857">overflowing</strongs><strongs number="5158">flood</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and <strongs number="4393">all</strongs>that is therein; the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and them that <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>therein: then the <strongs number="120">men</strongs>shall <strongs number="2199">cry</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>shall <strongs number="3213">howl</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>At the <strongs number="4480 6963">noise</strongs>of the <strongs number="8161">stamping</strongs>of the <strongs number="6541">hooves</strongs>of his <strongs number="47">strong</strongs><em> horses </em>, at the <strongs number="4480 7494">rushing</strongs>of his <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>, <em> and </em><em> at </em>the <strongs number="1995">rumbling</strongs>of his <strongs number="1534">wheels</strongs>, the <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>look <strongs number="6437">back</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><em> their </em><strongs number="1121">children</strongs>for <strongs number="4480 7510">feebleness</strongs>of <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>; </verse>

      <verse number='5'><strongs number="7144">Baldness</strongs>is <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs><strongs number="5804">Gaza</strongs>; <strongs number="831">Ashkelon</strongs>is cut <strongs number="1820">off</strongs><em> with </em>the <strongs number="7611">remnant</strongs>of their <strongs number="6010">valley</strongs>: how <strongs number="5704 4970">long</strongs>wilt thou cut <strongs number="1413">thyself</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="1945">O</strongs>thou <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, how <strongs number="5704 575">long</strongs><em> will </em><em> it </em><em> be </em><strongs number="3808">ere</strongs>thou be <strongs number="8252">quiet</strongs>? put up <strongs number="622">thyself</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>thy <strongs number="8593">scabbard</strongs>, <strongs number="7280">rest</strongs>, and be <strongs number="1826">still</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="349">How</strongs>can it be <strongs number="8252">quiet</strongs>, seeing the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath given it a <strongs number="6680">charge</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="831">Ashkelon</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="3220">sea</strongs><strongs number="2348">shore</strongs>? <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>hath he <strongs number="3259">appointed</strongs>it. </verse>
