      <verse number='2'><strongs number="7205">Reuben</strongs>, <strongs number="8095">Simeon</strongs>, <strongs number="3878">Levi</strongs>, and <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="3485">Issachar</strongs>, <strongs number="2074">Zebulun</strongs>, and <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="1835">Dan</strongs>, and <strongs number="5321">Naphtali</strongs>, <strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs>, and <strongs number="836">Asher</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5315">souls</strongs>that came <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>of the <strongs number="3409">loins</strongs>of <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs><strongs number="1961">were</strongs><strongs number="7657">seventy</strongs><strongs number="5315">souls</strongs>: for <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>in <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><em> already </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs><strongs number="4191">died</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="1755">generation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>were <strongs number="6509">fruitful</strongs>, and increased <strongs number="8317">abundantly</strongs>, and <strongs number="7235">multiplied</strongs>, and waxed exceeding <strongs number="6105 3966 3966">mighty</strongs>; and the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>was <strongs number="4390">filled</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Now there arose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>a <strongs number="2319">new</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="7227">more</strongs>and <strongs number="6099">mightier</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>we: </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="3051">Come</strongs>on, let us deal <strongs number="2449">wisely</strongs>with them; <strongs number="6435">lest</strongs>they <strongs number="7235">multiply</strongs>, and it come to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that, <strongs number="3588">when</strongs>there falleth <strongs number="7122">out</strongs>any <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">they</strongs><strongs number="3254">join</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>our <strongs number="8130">enemies</strongs>, and <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>against us, and <em> so </em>get them <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Therefore they did <strongs number="7760">set</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>them <strongs number="8269 4522">taskmasters</strongs><strongs number="4616">to</strongs><strongs number="6031">afflict</strongs>them with their <strongs number="5450">burdens</strongs>. And they <strongs number="1129">built</strongs>for <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs><strongs number="4543">treasure</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="6619">Pithom</strongs>and <strongs number="7486">Rameses</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>But the <strongs number="834">more</strongs>they <strongs number="6031">afflicted</strongs>them, the <strongs number="3651">more</strongs>they <strongs number="7235">multiplied</strongs>and <strongs number="3651 6555">grew</strongs>. And they were <strongs number="6973">grieved</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">because</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And the <strongs number="4714">Egyptians</strongs>made <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>to <strongs number="5647">serve</strongs>with <strongs number="6531">rigor</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And they made <strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="2416">lives</strongs><strongs number="4843">bitter</strongs>with <strongs number="7186">hard</strongs><strongs number="5656">bondage</strongs>, in <strongs number="2563">mortar</strongs>, and in <strongs number="3843">brick</strongs>, and in all <strongs number="3605">manner</strongs>of <strongs number="5656">service</strongs>in the <strongs number="7704">field</strongs>: <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>their <strongs number="5656">service</strongs>, <strongs number="834">wherein</strongs>they made them <strongs number="5647">serve</strongs>, <em> was </em>with <strongs number="6531">rigor</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><strongs number="559">spoke</strongs>to the <strongs number="5680">Hebrew</strongs><strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs>, of <strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="259">one</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="8236">Shiphrah</strongs>, and the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="8145">other</strongs><strongs number="6326">Puah</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, When ye do the office of a <strongs number="3205">midwife</strongs>to <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the Hebrew <strongs number="5680">women</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><em> them </em><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="70">stools</strongs>; <strongs number="518">if</strongs><strongs number="1931">it</strongs><em> be </em>a <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>, then ye shall <strongs number="4191">kill</strongs>him: but <strongs number="518">if</strongs><strongs number="1931">it</strongs><em> be </em>a <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>, then she shall <strongs number="2425">live</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>But the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs><strongs number="3372">feared</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="834">as</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><strongs number="1696 413">commanded</strongs>them, but <strongs number="2421">saved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the men <strongs number="3206">children</strongs>alive. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>called <strongs number="7121">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto them, <strongs number="4069">Why</strongs>have ye <strongs number="6213">done</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>, and have <strongs number="2421">saved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the men <strongs number="3206">children</strongs>alive? </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>the Hebrew <strongs number="5680">women</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>as the <strongs number="4713">Egyptian</strongs><strongs number="802">women</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="2007">they</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="2422">lively</strongs>, and are <strongs number="3205">delivered</strongs><strongs number="2962">ere</strongs>the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs>come <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>Therefore <strongs number="430">God</strongs>dealt <strongs number="3190">well</strongs>with the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs>: and the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="7235">multiplied</strongs>, and waxed very <strongs number="6105 3966">mighty</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>the <strongs number="3205">midwives</strongs><strongs number="3372">feared</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, that he <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>them <strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs><strongs number="6680">charged</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">Every</strongs><strongs number="1121">son</strongs>that is <strongs number="3209">born</strongs>ye shall <strongs number="7993">cast</strongs>into the <strongs number="2975">river</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>ye shall save <strongs number="2421">alive</strongs>. </verse>
