      <verse number='3'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore let us <strongs number="3772">make</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>with our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>to put <strongs number="3318">away</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>, and such as are <strongs number="3205">born</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>them, according to the <strongs number="6098">counsel</strongs>of my <strongs number="136">lord</strongs>, and of those that <strongs number="2730">tremble</strongs>at the <strongs number="4687">commandment</strongs>of our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>; and let it be <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>according to the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="6965">Arise</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><em> this </em><strongs number="1697">matter</strongs><em> belongeth </em><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>thee: <strongs number="587">we</strongs>also <em> will </em><em> be </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>thee: be of good <strongs number="2388">courage</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><em> it </em>. </verse>

And they <strongs number="7650">swore</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Then <strongs number="5830">Ezra</strongs>rose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="3957">chamber</strongs>of <strongs number="3076">Johanan</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="475">Eliashib</strongs>: and <em> when </em>he <strongs number="1980">came</strongs><strongs number="8033">thither</strongs>, he did <strongs number="398">eat</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3899">bread</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs><strongs number="8354">drink</strongs><strongs number="4325">water</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he <strongs number="56">mourned</strongs><strongs number="5921">because</strongs>of the <strongs number="4604">transgression</strongs>of them that had been carried <strongs number="1473">away</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And they made <strongs number="5674 6963">proclamation</strongs>throughout <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>unto <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of the <strongs number="1473">captivity</strongs>, that they should gather themselves <strongs number="6908">together</strongs>unto <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>; </verse>

      <verse number='16'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of the <strongs number="1473">captivity</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="3651">so</strongs>. And <strongs number="5830">Ezra</strongs>the <strongs number="3548">priest</strongs>, <em> with </em><strongs number="376">certain</strongs><strongs number="7218">chief</strongs>of the <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, after the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of their <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>of them by <em> their </em><strongs number="8034">names</strongs>, were <strongs number="914">separated</strongs>, and sat <strongs number="3427">down</strongs>in the <strongs number="259">first</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>of the <strongs number="6224">tenth</strongs><strongs number="2320">month</strongs>to <strongs number="1875">examine</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">matter</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='19'>And they <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>their <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>that they would put <strongs number="3318">away</strongs>their <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>; and <em> being </em><strongs number="818">guilty</strongs>, <em> they </em><em> offered </em>a <strongs number="352">ram</strongs>of the <strongs number="6629">flock</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>their <strongs number="819">trespass</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='22'>And of the <strongs number="4480 1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs>; <strongs number="454">Elioenai</strongs>, <strongs number="4641">Maaseiah</strongs>, <strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>, <strongs number="5417">Nethaneel</strongs>, <strongs number="3107">Jozabad</strongs>, and <strongs number="501">Elasah</strongs>. </verse>
