      <verse number='1'><strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="1121">old</strongs>when he began to <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs>, and he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="8337 6240">sixteen</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>: but he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><em> that </em><em> which </em><em> was </em><strongs number="3477">right</strongs>in the <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, like <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='2'>For he <strongs number="1980">walked</strongs>in the <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">made</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>molten <strongs number="4541">images</strongs>for <strongs number="1168">Baalim</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Moreover <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>burnt <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>in the <strongs number="1516">valley</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="2011">Hinnom</strongs>, and <strongs number="1197">burnt</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>in the <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>, after the <strongs number="8441">abominations</strongs>of the <strongs number="1471">heathen</strongs><strongs number="834">whom</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had cast <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>He <strongs number="2076">sacrificed</strongs>also and burnt <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>in the high <strongs number="1116">places</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">on</strongs>the <strongs number="1389">hills</strongs>, and <strongs number="8478">under</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="7488">green</strongs><strongs number="6086">tree</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Wherefore the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>his <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs>him into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>; and they <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>him, and carried <strongs number="7617">away</strongs>a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs>multitude <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>them <strongs number="7633">captives</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs><em> them </em>to <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>.       <verse number='6'>For <strongs number="6492">Pekah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7425">Remaliah</strongs><strongs number="2026">slew</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>a <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>and <strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>in <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, <em> which </em><em> were </em><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>valiant <strongs number="1121 2428">men</strongs>; because they had <strongs number="5800">forsaken</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of their <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='8'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>carried away <strongs number="7617">captive</strongs>of their <strongs number="4480 251">brethren</strongs>two <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>, <strongs number="802">women</strongs>, <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>, and <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>, and took also <strongs number="962 1571">away</strongs><strongs number="7227">much</strongs><strongs number="7998">spoil</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>them, and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="7998">spoil</strongs>to <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='11'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs><strongs number="8085">hear</strongs>me therefore, and <strongs number="7725">deliver</strongs>the <strongs number="7633">captives</strongs>again, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>ye have taken <strongs number="7617">captive</strongs>of your <strongs number="4480 251">brethren</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="2740">fierce</strongs><strongs number="639">wrath</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>you. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>Then <strongs number="376">certain</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 7218">heads</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>, <strongs number="5838">Azariah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3076">Johanan</strongs>, <strongs number="1296">Berechiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="4919">Meshillemoth</strongs>, and <strongs number="3169">Jehizkiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7967">Shallum</strongs>, and <strongs number="6021">Amasa</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="2311">Hadlai</strongs>, stood <strongs number="6965">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>them that <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the <strongs number="6635">war</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto them, Ye shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>bring <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="7633">captives</strongs><strongs number="2008">hither</strongs>: for <strongs number="3588">whereas</strongs>we have offended <strongs number="819 5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> already </em>, <strongs number="859">ye</strongs><strongs number="559">intend</strongs>to <strongs number="3254">add</strongs><em> more </em><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>our <strongs number="2403">sins</strongs>and <strongs number="5921">to</strongs>our <strongs number="819">trespass</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>our <strongs number="819">trespass</strongs>is <strongs number="7227">great</strongs>, and <em> there </em><em> is </em><strongs number="2740">fierce</strongs><strongs number="639">wrath</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>So the armed <strongs number="2502">men</strongs><strongs number="5800">left</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="7633">captives</strongs>and the <strongs number="961">spoil</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="6951">congregation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>were <strongs number="5344">expressed</strongs>by <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>rose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>, and <strongs number="2388">took</strongs>the <strongs number="7633">captives</strongs>, and <strongs number="4480">with</strongs>the <strongs number="7998">spoil</strongs><strongs number="3847">clothed</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that were <strongs number="4636">naked</strongs>among them, and <strongs number="3847">arrayed</strongs>them, and <strongs number="5274">shod</strongs>them, and gave them to <strongs number="398">eat</strongs>and to <strongs number="8248">drink</strongs>, and <strongs number="5480">anointed</strongs>them, and <strongs number="5095">carried</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3782">feeble</strongs>of them upon <strongs number="2543">asses</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>them to <strongs number="3405">Jericho</strongs>, the city of palm <strongs number="5899">trees</strongs>, <strongs number="681">to</strongs>their <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>: then they <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>to <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>At <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>did <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs><strongs number="7971">send</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>to <strongs number="5826">help</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>For <strongs number="5750">again</strongs>the <strongs number="130">Edomites</strongs>had <strongs number="935">come</strongs>and <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and carried <strongs number="7617">away</strongs><strongs number="7628">captives</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>The <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>also had <strongs number="6584">invaded</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of the low <strongs number="8219">country</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and had <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1053">Beth</strongs>-shemesh, and <strongs number="357">Ajalon</strongs>, and <strongs number="1450">Gederoth</strongs>, and <strongs number="7755">Shocho</strongs>with the <strongs number="1323">villages</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="8553">Timnah</strongs>with the <strongs number="1323">villages</strongs>thereof, <strongs number="1579">Gimzo</strongs>also and the <strongs number="1323">villages</strongs>thereof: and they <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="3665">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>low because <strongs number="5668">of</strongs><strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he made Judah <strongs number="6544 3063">naked</strongs>, and <strongs number="4603">transgressed</strongs><strongs number="4604">sore</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="8407">Tiglath</strongs>-pileser <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>him, and <strongs number="6696">distressed</strongs>him, but <strongs number="2388">strengthened</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs>took away a <strongs number="2505">portion</strongs><em> out </em>of <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <em> out </em>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs><em> it </em>unto the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>: but he <strongs number="5833">helped</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And in the <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>of his <strongs number="6887">distress</strongs>did he <strongs number="4603">trespass</strongs>yet <strongs number="3254">more</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: <strongs number="1931">this</strongs><em> is </em><em> that </em><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>For he <strongs number="2076">sacrificed</strongs>unto the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>, which <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>him: and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="5826">help</strongs>them, <em> therefore </em>will I <strongs number="2076">sacrifice</strongs>to them, that they may <strongs number="5826">help</strongs>me.       <verse number='24'>And <strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs>gathered <strongs number="622">together</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3627">vessels</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and cut in <strongs number="7112">pieces</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3627">vessels</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and shut <strongs number="5462">up</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1817">doors</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and he <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>him <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs>in <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="6438">corner</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And in <strongs number="3605">every</strongs>several <strongs number="5892 5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>he <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>high <strongs number="1116">places</strongs>to burn <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>unto <strongs number="312">other</strongs><strongs number="430">gods</strongs>, and provoked to <strongs number="3707">anger</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='27'>And <strongs number="271">Ahaz</strongs><strongs number="7901">slept</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and they <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>him in the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, <em> even </em>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">but</strongs>they <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>into the <strongs number="6913">sepulchers</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: and <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in his <strongs number="8478">stead</strongs>. </verse>
