And Saulsoughtto smiteDavideven to the wallwith the javelin; but he slipped awayout of Saul's presence, and he smotethe javelininto the wall: and Davidfled, and escapedthatnight. Saulalso sentmessengersuntoDavid's house, to watchhim, and to slayhim in the morning: and MichalDavid's wifetoldhim, saying, Ifthou savenotthy lifetonight, tomorrowthoushalt be slain. So Michallet David downthrougha window: and he went, and fled, and escaped. And Michaltookan image, and laid it inthe bed, and puta pillowof goats' hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth. And when Saulsentmessengersto takeDavid, she said, He is sick. And Saulsentthe messengers again to seeDavid, saying, Bring him uptome in the bed, that I may slayhim. And when the messengerswere come in, behold, there was an imageinthe bed, with a pillowof goats' hair for his bolster. And SaulsaiduntoMichal, Whyhast thou deceivedme so, and sent awaymine enemy, that he is escaped? And MichalansweredSaul, Hesaiduntome, Let me go; whyshould I killthee? So Davidfled, and escaped, and cametoSamuelto Ramah, and toldhim allthatSaulhad doneto him. And heand Samuelwentand dweltin Naioth. And it was toldSaul, saying, Behold, David is at Naiothin Ramah. And Saulsentmessengersto takeDavid: and when they sawthe companyof the prophetsprophesying, and Samuelstanding as appointedoverthem, the Spiritof Godwasuponthe messengersof Saul, and theyalsoprophesied. And when it was toldSaul, he sentothermessengers, and theyprophesiedlikewise. And Saulsentmessengersagainthe thirdtime, and theyprophesiedalso. Then wenthealsoto Ramah, and cametoa greatwellthat is in Sechu: and he askedand said, Where are Samueland David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naiothin Ramah. And he wentthithertoNaiothin Ramah: and the Spiritof Godwasuponhimalso, and he went on, and prophesied, untilhe cameto Naiothin Ramah. And hestripped offhis clothesalso, and prophesiedbeforeSamuelin like manner, and lay downnakedallthatdayand allthat night. Whereforethey say, Is Saulalsoamong the prophets?
