And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt markthe placewherehe shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncoverhis feet, and lay thee down; and hewill tellthee whatthou shalt do. And she saiduntoher, Allthatthou sayestuntome I will do. And she went downunto the floor, and didaccording to allthather mother-in-law badeher. And when Boazhad eatenand drunk, and his heartwas merry, he wentto lie downat the endof the heap of corn: and she camesoftly, and uncoveredhis feet, and laid her down. And it came to passat midnight, that the manwas afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a womanlayat his feet. And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruththine handmaid: spreadtherefore thy skirtoverthine handmaid; forthou art a near kinsman. And he said, Blessed be thouof the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast showed morekindnessin the latter endthanat the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedstnotyoung men, whetherpoororrich. And now, my daughter, fearnot; I will doto thee allthatthou requirest: forallthe cityof my peopledoth knowthatthou art a virtuouswoman. And nowit is truethatI am thy near kinsman: howbeitthere isa kinsmannearerthanI. Tarrythis night, and it shall bein the morning, that ifhe will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but ifhe willnotdo the part of a kinsmanto thee, then will Ido the part of a kinsmanto thee, as the LORDliveth: lie downuntilthe morning. And she layat his feetuntilthe morning: and she rose upbeforeonecould knowanother. And he said, Let it notbe knownthata womancameinto the floor. Also he said, Bringthe veilthat thou hast uponthee, and holdit. And when she heldit, he measuredsix measures of barley, and laid it onher: and she went intothe city. And when she cametoher mother-in-law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she toldher allthatthe manhad doneto her. And she said, Thesesix measures of barleygavehe me; forhe saidtome, Gonotemptyuntothy mother-in-law. Then saidshe, Sit still, my daughter, untilthou knowhowthe matterwill fall: forthe manwill notbe in rest, untilhe have finishedthe thingthis day.
