And the childrenof Israelagaindidevilin the sightof the LORD, when Ehudwas dead. And the LORDsoldthem into the handof Jabinkingof Canaan, thatreignedin Hazor; the captainof whose host was Sisera, whichdweltin Harosheth of the Gentiles. And the childrenof Israelcrieduntothe LORD: forhe had ninehundredchariotsof iron; and twentyyearshemightilyoppressedthe childrenof Israel. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wifeof Lapidoth, shejudgedIsraelat thattime. And shedweltunderthe palm treeof DeborahbetweenRamahand Bethelin mountEphraim: and the childrenof Israelcame uptoher for judgment. And she sentand calledBarakthe sonof Abinoamout of Kedesh-naphtali, and saiduntohim, Hath notthe LORDGodof Israelcommanded, saying , Goand drawtoward mountTabor, and takewiththee tenthousandmenof the childrenof Naphtaliand of the childrenof Zebulun? And I will drawuntothee tothe riverKishonSisera, the captainof Jabin's army, with his chariotsand his multitude; and I will deliverhim into thine hand. And Baraksaiduntoher, Ifthou wilt gowithme, then I will go: but ifthou wilt notgowithme, then I will notgo. And she said, I will surely gowiththee: notwithstandingthe journeythatthoutakestshall notbefor thine honor; forthe LORDshall sellSiserainto the handof a woman. And Deboraharose, and wentwithBarakto Kedesh. And BarakcalledZebulunand Naphtalito Kedesh; and he went upwith tenthousandmenat his feet: and Deborahwent upwithhim. Now Heberthe Kenite, which was of the childrenof Hobabthe father-in-law of Moses, had severed himselffrom the Kenites, and pitchedhis tentuntothe plainof Zaanaim, which is byKedesh. And they showedSiserathatBarakthe sonof Abinoamwas gone upto mountTabor. And Siseragathered togetherallhis chariots, even ninehundredchariotsof iron, and allthe peoplethat were withhim, from Harosheth of the Gentilesuntothe riverof Kishon. And DeborahsaiduntoBarak, Up; forthis is the dayin whichthe LORDhath deliveredSiserainto thine hand: is notthe LORDgone outbeforethee? So Barakwent downfrom mountTabor, and tenthousandmenafterhim. And the LORDdiscomfitedSisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edgeof the swordbeforeBarak; so that Siseralighted downoff his chariot, and fled awayon his feet. But Barakpursuedafterthe chariots, and afterthe host, untoHarosheth of the Gentiles: and allthe hostof Siserafellupon the edgeof the sword; and there was nota manleft. Howbeit Siserafled awayon his feettothe tentof Jaelthe wifeof Heberthe Kenite: for there was peacebetweenJabinthe kingof Hazorand the houseof Heberthe Kenite. And Jaelwent outto meetSisera, and saiduntohim, Turn in, my lord, turn intome; fearnot. And when he had turned inuntoher into the tent, she coveredhim with a mantle. And he saiduntoher, Give me, I pray thee, a littlewaterto drink; forI am thirsty. And she openeda bottleof milk, and gave him drink, and coveredhim. Again he saiduntoher, Standin the doorof the tent, and it shall be, whenany mandoth comeand inquireof thee, and say, Isthere any manhere? that thou shalt say, No. Then JaelHeber's wifetooka nailof the tent, and tooka hammerin her hand, and wentsoftlyuntohim, and smotethe nailinto his temples, and fastenedit into the ground: for hewas fast asleepand weary. So he died. And, behold, as BarakpursuedSisera, Jaelcame outto meethim, and saidunto him, Come, and I will showthee the manwhomthouseekest. And when he cameintoher tent , behold, Siseralaydead, and the nail was in his temples. So Godsubduedon thatdayJabinthe kingof Canaanbeforethe childrenof Israel.
