And thou shalt rememberallthe waywhichthe LORDthy Godledthee thesefortyyearsin the wilderness, tohumblethee, and to provethee, to knowwhat was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keephis commandments, ornot. And he humbledthee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fedthee withmanna, whichthou knewestnot, neitherdid thy fathersknow; thathe might make thee knowthatmandoth notlivebybreadonly, butbyevery word that proceedeth outof the mouthof the LORDdoth manlive. Thy raimentwaxed not olduponthee, neitherdid thy footswell, thesefortyyears. Thou shalt also considerinthine heart, that, asa manchastenethhis son, so the LORDthy Godchasteneththee. Therefore thou shalt keepthe commandmentsof the LORDthy God, to walkin his ways, and to fearhim. Forthe LORDthy Godbringeththee intoa goodland, a landof brooksof water, of fountainsand depthsthat spring outof valleysand hills; A landof wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a landof oilolive, and honey; A landwhereinthou shalt eatbreadwithoutscarceness, thou shalt notlackany thing in it; a landwhosestones are iron, and out of whose hillsthou mayest digbrass. When thou hast eatenand art full, then thou shalt blessthe LORDthy Godforthe goodlandwhichhe hath giventhee. Bewarethat thou forget notthe LORDthy God, in notkeepinghis commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, whichIcommandthee this day: Lest when thou hast eatenand art full, and hast builtgoodlyhouses, and dwelt therein ; And when thy herdsand thy flocksmultiply, and thy silverand thy goldis multiplied, and allthatthou hast is multiplied; Then thine heartbe lifted up, and thou forgetthe LORDthy God, which brought thee forthout of the landof Egypt, from the houseof bondage; Who ledthee through that greatand terriblewilderness, wherein were fieryserpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was nowater; who brought thee forthwaterout of the rockof flint; Who fedthee in the wildernesswith manna, whichthy fathersknewnot, thathe might humblethee, and thathe might provethee, to do thee goodat thy latter end; And thou sayin thine heart, My powerand the mightof mine handhath gottenme thiswealth. But thou shalt rememberthe LORDthy God: for it is hethat giveththee powerto getwealth, thathe may establishhis covenantwhichhe sworeunto thy fathers, as it is thisday. And it shall be, ifthou do at all forgetthe LORDthy God, and walkafterothergods, and servethem, and worshipthem, I testifyagainst you this daythatye shall surely perish. As the nationswhichthe LORDdestroyethbefore your face, soshall ye perish; becauseye would notbe obedientunto the voiceof the LORDyour God.
