Andhe spakeaparableunto them to this end, that men oughtalwaysto pray, andnotto faint; Saying, There wasinacityajudge, which fearednotGod, neitherregardedman: And there was a widowinthatcity; and she cameuntohim, saying, Avengemeofmineadversary. And he wouldnot for a while: butafterward he saidwithinhimself, Though I fearnotGod, norregardman; Yet because thiswidowtroublethme, I will avengeher, lest by her continualcoming she wearyme. AndtheLordsaid, Hearwhattheunjustjudgesaith. And shall notGodavenge his ownelect, which crydayandnightuntohim, though he bear longwiththem? I tellyouthat he will avengethemspeedily. Nevertheless when theSon of mancometh, shall he findfaithontheearth? Andhe spakethisparableuntocertainwhich trustedinthemselvesthatthey wererighteous, anddespisedothers: Twomen went upintothetemple to pray; theone a Pharisee, andtheother a publican. ThePhariseestood and prayedthuswithhimself, God, I thankthee, that I amnotasothermen are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, orevenasthispublican. I fasttwice in theweek, I give tithes of allthat I possess. Andthepublican, standing afar off, wouldnot lift up so much as his eyesuntoheaven, butsmoteuponhisbreast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tellyou, this man went downtohishousejustified rather than the other: for every one that exaltethhimself shall be abased; and he that humblethhimself shall be exalted. Andthey broughtunto himalsoinfants, thathe would touchthem: butwhen his disciplessaw it, they rebukedthem. ButJesuscalledthem unto him, and said, Suffer little children to comeuntome, andforbidthemnot: for of suchisthekingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall notreceivethekingdom of Godas a little child shall in no wiseentertherein. Anda certainruleraskedhim, saying, GoodMaster, whatshall I doto inheriteternallife? AndJesussaidunto him, Whycallest thou megood? none is good, saveone, that is, God. Thou knowestthecommandments, Do not commit adultery, Do notkill, Do notsteal, Do not bear false witness, Honorthyfatherandthymother. Andhesaid, Allthesehave I keptfrommyyouthup. Nowwhen Jesusheardthese things, he saidunto him, Yetlackestthou one thing: sellallthat thou hast, anddistribute unto the poor, and thou shalt havetreasureinheaven: andcome, followme. Andwhen heheardthis, he wasvery sorrowful: forhe wasveryrich. Andwhen Jesussawthat hewasvery sorrowful, he said, Howhardly shall they that haverichesenterintothekingdom of God! For it iseasier for a camel to gothrough a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enterintothekingdom of God. Andthey that heard it said, Whothencanbe saved? Andhesaid, The things which are impossiblewithmenarepossiblewithGod. ThenPetersaid, Lo, wehave leftall, andfollowedthee, Andhesaidunto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no manthat hath lefthouse, orparents, orbrethren, orwife, orchildren, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall notreceive manifold moreinthis present time, andintheworld to comelifeeverlasting. Thenhe took unto him thetwelve, and saiduntothem, Behold, we go uptoJerusalem, and all things that are writtenbytheprophets concerning theSon of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto theGentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: andthethirdday he shall rise again. Andtheyunderstoodnoneof these things: andthissayingwashidfromthem, neitherknewthey the things which were spoken. Andit came to pass, that as hewas come nighuntoJericho, a certainblind mansatbytheway sidebegging: Andhearingthe multitudepass by, he askedwhatitmeant. Andthey toldhim, thatJesusof Nazarethpasseth by. Andhe cried, saying, Jesus, thou sonof David, have mercyon me. Andthey which went beforerebukedhim, thathe should hold his peace: buthecriedso muchthe more, Thou sonof David, have mercyon me. AndJesusstood, and commandedhimto be broughtuntohim: andwhen hewas come near, he askedhim, Saying, Whatwilt thou that I shall do unto thee? Andhesaid, Lord, thatI may receive my sight. AndJesussaidunto him, Receive thy sight: thyfaith hath savedthee. Andimmediatelyhe received his sight, andfollowedhim, glorifyingGod: andallthepeople, when they saw it, gavepraiseunto God.
