Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall notreceivethekingdom of Godas a little child, he shall notentertherein. Andhe took them up in his arms, put his handsuponthem, and blessedthem. Andwhen hewas gone forthintothe way, there came onerunning, andkneeledto him, and askedhim, GoodMaster, whatshall I dothatI may inheriteternallife? AndJesussaidunto him, Whycallest thou megood? there is nonegoodbutone, that is, God. Thou knowestthecommandments, Do not commit adultery, Do notkill, Do notsteal, Do not bear false witness, Defraudnot, Honorthyfatherandmother. Andheansweredand saidunto him, Master, allthesehave I observedfrommyyouth. ThenJesusbeholdinghimlovedhim, andsaidunto him, One thingthoulackest: go thy way, sellwhatsoever thou hast, andgive to thepoor, and thou shalt havetreasureinheaven: andcome, take upthecross, and followme. Andhewas sadatthat saying, and went awaygrieved: forhe hadgreatpossessions. AndJesuslooked round about, and saithunto hisdisciples, Howhardly shall they that haverichesenterintothekingdom of God! Andthediscipleswere astonishedathiswords. ButJesusanswerethagain, and saithunto them, Children, howhardis it for them that trustinriches to enterintothekingdom of God! It iseasier for a camel to gothroughtheeye of a needle, than for a rich man to enterintothekingdom of God. Andtheywere astonishedout of measure, sayingamongthemselves, Whothencanbe saved? AndJesuslooking uponthemsaith, Withmen it is impossible, butnotwithGod: forwithGod all thingsarepossible. ThenPeterbeganto sayunto him, Lo, wehave leftall, andhave followedthee. AndJesusansweredand said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath lefthouse, orbrethren, orsisters, orfather, ormother, orwife, orchildren, orlands, for my sake, andthegospel's, But he shall receive a hundredfoldnowinthistime, houses, andbrethren, andsisters, andmothers, andchildren, andlands, withpersecutions; andintheworld to comeeternallife. Butmany that are first shall belast; andthelastfirst. Andthey wereinthewaygoing uptoJerusalem; andJesuswent beforethem: andthey were amazed; andas they followed, they were afraid. Andhe tookagainthetwelve, and beganto tellthemwhat things shouldhappenunto him, Saying, Behold, we go uptoJerusalem; andtheSon of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto thescribes; and they shall condemnhim to death, and shall deliverhim to theGentiles: And they shall mockhim, and shall scourgehim, and shall spit uponhim, and shall killhim: andthethirdday he shall rise again. AndJamesandJohn, thesonsof Zebedee, comeunto him, saying, Master, we wouldthatthou shouldest dofor uswhatsoeverwe shall desire. Andhesaidunto them, Whatwould ye that I should do for you? Theysaidunto him, Grantunto usthatwe may sit, oneonthyright hand, andthe otheronthyleft hand, inthyglory. ButJesussaidunto them, Ye knownotwhat ye ask: can ye drink of thecupthatIdrink of? and be baptized with thebaptismthatI am baptized with? Andtheysaidunto him, We can. AndJesussaidunto them, Ye shall indeeddrink of thecupthatIdrink of; and with thebaptismthatI am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: But to sitonmy right handandonmy left handisnotmine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. Andwhen thetenheard it, they beganto be much displeasedwithJamesandJohn. ButJesuscalledthem to him, and saithunto them, Ye knowthat they which are accounted to rule overtheGentiles exercise lordship over them; andtheir great ones exercise authority upon them. Butso shall it notbeamongyou: butwhosoeverwillbegreatamongyou, shall beyourminister: Andwhosoever of youwillbe the chiefest shall beservant of all. ForeventheSon of mancamenot to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to givehislife a ransomformany. Andthey cametoJericho: andas hewentout ofJerichowithhisdisciplesanda great numberof people, blindBartimaeus, the sonof Timaeus, satbythehighway sidebegging. Andwhen he heardthatit wasJesusof Nazareth, he beganto cry out, andsay, Jesus, thou sonof David, have mercyon me. Andmanychargedhimthathe should hold his peace: buthecriedthe morea great deal, Thou sonof David, have mercyon me. AndJesusstood still, and commandedhimto be called. Andthey calltheblind man, sayingunto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleththee. Andhe, casting awayhisgarment, rose, and cametoJesus. AndJesusansweredand saidunto him, Whatwilt thou that I should do unto thee? Theblind mansaidunto him, Lord, thatI might receive my sight. AndJesussaidunto him, Go thy way; thyfaith hath made thee whole. Andimmediatelyhe received his sight, andfollowedJesusintheway.
