Andwhenthey drew nighuntoJerusalem, andwere cometoBethphage, untothemountof Olives, thensentJesustwodisciples, Sayingunto them, Gointothevillage over againstyou, andstraightway ye shall find an asstied, and a coltwithher: loose them, and bring them unto me. Andifany man sayaught unto you, ye shall say, TheLordhathneed of them; andstraightway he will sendthem. Allthiswas done, thatit might be fulfilledwhich was spokenbytheprophet, saying, Tellye thedaughterof Zion, Behold, thykingcomethunto thee, meek, andsittinguponan ass, anda coltthe foalof an ass. Andthediscipleswent, anddidasJesuscommandedthem, And broughttheass, andthecolt, andputonthemtheirclothes, andthey set him thereon. Anda very greatmultitudespreadtheirgarmentsintheway; otherscut downbranchesfromthetrees, andstrewed them intheway. Andthemultitudesthat went before, andthatfollowed, cried, saying, Hosannato thesonof David: Blessed is he that comethinthe nameof the Lord; Hosannainthehighest. Andwhen hewas comeintoJerusalem, allthecitywas moved, saying, Whoisthis? Andthemultitudesaid, ThisisJesustheprophetofNazarethof Galilee. AndJesuswentintothetempleof God, andcast outallthem that soldandboughtinthetemple, andoverthrewthetablesof themoneychangers, andtheseatsof them that solddoves, Andsaidunto them, It is written, Myhouse shall be called the house of prayer; butye have madeit a den of thieves. Andthe blindandthe lamecameto himinthetemple; andhe healedthem. Andwhen thechief priestsandscribessawthewonderful thingsthathe did, andthechildrencryinginthetemple, andsaying, Hosannato thesonof David; they were sore displeased, Andsaidunto him, Hearestthou whatthesesay? AndJesussaithunto them, Yea; have ye neverread, Out of the mouth of babesandsucklings thou hast perfectedpraise Andhe leftthem, and wentoutof thecityintoBethany; andhe lodgedthere. Nowin the morningas he returnedintothecity, he hungered. Andwhen he sawafig treeintheway, he cametoit, andfoundnothingthereon, butleavesonly, andsaidunto it, Let no fruitgrowontheehenceforwardforever. Andpresentlythefig treewithered away. Andwhen thedisciplessaw it, they marveled, saying, Howsoonis thefig treewithered away! Jesusansweredand saidunto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye havefaith, anddoubtnot, ye shall notonlydothis which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto thismountain, Be thou removed, and be thou castintothesea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall askinprayer, believing, ye shall receive. Andwhen hewas comeintothetemple, thechief priestsandtheeldersof thepeoplecameunto himas he was teaching, and said, Bywhatauthoritydoestthou these things? andwhogavetheethisauthority? AndJesusansweredand saidunto them, I also will askyouonething, whichif ye tellme, I in likewise will tellyoubywhatauthority I do these things. Thebaptism of John, whencewas it? fromheaven, orof men? Andtheyreasonedwiththemselves, saying, Ifwe shall say, Fromheaven; he will sayunto us, Whydid ye notthenbelievehim? Butifwe shall say, Ofmen; we fearthepeople; forallholdJohnasa prophet. Andthey answeredJesus, and said, We cannot tell. Andhesaidunto them, NeithertellIyoubywhatauthority I do these things. Butwhatthinkye? A certain manhadtwosons; and he came to thefirst, and said, Son, goworktodayinmyvineyard. Heanswered and said, I willnot: butafterward he repented, and went. And he came to thesecond, and saidlikewise. Andheanswered and said, I go, sir: andwentnot. Whetherofthemtwaindidthewill of his father? Theysayunto him, Thefirst. Jesussaithunto them, Verily I say unto you, Thatthepublicansandtheharlots go into the kingdom of God beforeyou. ForJohncameuntoyouin the way of righteousness, and ye believedhimnot; butthepublicansandtheharlotsbelievedhim: andye, when ye had seen it, repentednotafterward, that ye might believehim. Hearanotherparable: There was a certainhouseholder, whichplanted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, anddigged a winepressinit, andbuilt a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: Andwhenthetime of thefruit drew near, he senthisservantstothehusbandmen, that they might receivethefruits of it. Andthehusbandmentookhisservants, and beatone, andkilledanother, andstonedanother. Again, he sentotherservantsmore than thefirst: and they did unto themlikewise. Butlast of all he sentuntothemhisson, saying, They will reverencemyson. But when thehusbandmensawtheson, they saidamongthemselves, Thisistheheir; come, let us killhim, and let us seize onhisinheritance. And they caughthim, andcast him out of thevineyard, andslew him. Whenthelordtherefore of thevineyardcometh, what will he do unto thosehusbandmen? They sayunto him, He will miserablydestroythosewicked men, andwill let out his vineyardunto otherhusbandmen, whichshall renderhimthefruitsintheirseasons. Jesussaithunto them, Did ye neverreadintheScriptures, The stonewhichthebuildersrejected, the same is becomethehead of the corner: thisis the Lord's doing, and it ismarvelousinoureyes? Thereforesay I unto you, Thekingdom of God shall be takenfromyou, andgiven to a nation bringing forththefruitsthereof. And whosoever shall fallonthisstone shall be broken: butonwhomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. Andwhen thechief priestsandPhariseeshad heardhisparables, they perceivedthathe spakeofthem. Butwhen they soughtto lay handson him, they fearedthemultitude, becausethey tookhimfora prophet.
