And Balaamsaidunto Balak, Standbythy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventurethe LORDwill cometo meetme: and whatsoeverhe showethme I will tellthee. And he wentto a high place. And GodmetBalaam: and he saiduntohim, I have preparedsevenaltars, and I have offeredupon every altara bullockand a ram. And the LORDputa wordin Balaam's mouth, and said, ReturnuntoBalak, and thusthou shalt speak. And he returneduntohim, and, lo, he stoodbyhis burnt sacrifice, he, and allthe princesof Moab. And he took uphis parable, and said, Balakthe kingof Moabhath broughtme fromAram, out of the mountainsof the east, saying , Come, curseme Jacob, and come, defyIsrael. Howshall I curse, whom Godhath notcursed? or howshall I defy, whom the LORDhath notdefied? Forfrom the topof the rocksI seehim, and from the hillsI beholdhim: lo, the peopleshall dwellalone, and shall notbe reckonedamong the nations. Whocan countthe dustof Jacob, and the numberof the fourth part of Israel? Let mediethe deathof the righteous, and let my last endbelike his! And BalaksaiduntoBalaam, Whathast thou doneunto me? I tookthee to cursemine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether. And he answeredand said, Must I nottake heedto speakthat whichthe LORDhath putin my mouth? And Balaksaiduntohim, Come, I pray thee, withme untoanotherplace, from whencethou mayest seethem: thou shalt seebutthe utmost partof them, and shalt notseethem all: and curseme them from thence. And when he cametohim, behold, he stoodbyhis burnt offering, and the princesof Moabwithhim. And Balaksaidunto him, Whathath the LORDspoken? And he took uphis parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearkenuntome, thou sonof Zippor: God is nota man, that he should lie; neither the sonof man, that he should repent: hath hesaid, and shall he notdo it ? or hath he spoken, and shall he notmake it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannotreverseit. He hath notbeheldiniquityin Jacob, neitherhath he seenperversenessin Israel: the LORDhis God is withhim, and the shoutof a king is among them. Godbrought them outof Egypt; he hath as it were the strengthof a unicorn. Surely there is noenchantmentagainst Jacob, neither is there any divinationagainst Israel: according to this timeit shall be saidof Jacoband of Israel, Whathath Godwrought! Behold, the peopleshall rise upas a great lion, and lift up himselfas a young lion: he shall notlie downuntilhe eat of the prey, and drinkthe bloodof the slain. And BalaksaiduntoBalaam, Neithercurse them at all, norbless them at all. But Balaamansweredand saiduntoBalak, ToldnotI thee, saying, Allthatthe LORDspeaketh, that I must do? And BalaksaiduntoBalaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bringthee untoanotherplace; peradventureit will pleaseGodthat thou mayest curseme them from thence. And BalakbroughtBalaamunto the topof Peor, that lookethtowardJeshimon. And BalaamsaiduntoBalak, Buildme heresevenaltars, and prepareme heresevenbullocksand sevenrams.
