Hearye this, O priests; and hearken, ye houseof Israel; and give ye ear, O houseof the king; forjudgment is toward you, becauseye have beena snareon Mizpah, and a netspreaduponTabor. And the revoltersare profoundto make slaughter, though I have been a rebukerof them all. IknowEphraim, and Israelis nothidfromme: fornow, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israelis defiled. They will notframetheir doingsto turnuntotheir God: forthe spiritof whoredoms is in the midstof them, and they have notknownthe LORD. And the prideof Israeldoth testifyto his face: therefore shall Israeland Ephraimfallin their iniquity; Judahalsoshall fallwiththem. They shall gowith their flocksand with their herdsto seekthe LORD; but they shall notfind him ; he hath withdrawnhimself fromthem. They have dealt treacherouslyagainst the LORD: forthey have begottenstrangechildren: nowshall a monthdevourthem withtheir portions. Blowye the cornetin Gibeah, and the trumpetin Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, afterthee, O Benjamin. Ephraimshall bedesolatein the dayof rebuke: among the tribesof Israelhave I made knownthat which shall surely be. The princesof Judahwerelike them that removethe bound: therefore I will pour outmy wrathuponthem like water. Ephraim is oppressed and brokenin judgment, becausehe willinglywalkedafterthe commandment. Therefore will I be unto Ephraimas a moth, and to the houseof Judahas rottenness. When Ephraimsawhis sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then wentEphraimtothe Assyrian, and senttokingJareb: yet couldhenothealyou, norcureyou of your wound. ForI will be unto Ephraimas a lion, and as a young lionto the houseof Judah: I, even I, will tearand go away; I will take away, and noneshall rescue him . I will go and returntomy place, tillthey acknowledge their offense, and seekmy face: in their afflictionthey will seek me early.
