And it came to passin the eleventhyear, in the third month , in the first day of the month, that the wordof the LORDcameuntome, saying, Sonof man, speakuntoPharaohkingof Egypt, and tohis multitude; Whomart thou likein thy greatness? Behold, the Assyrian was a cedarin Lebanonwith fairbranches, and with a shadowingshroud, and of a highstature; and his topwasamongthe thick boughs. The watersmade him great, the deepset him up on highwithher riversrunninground abouthis plants, and sent outher little riversuntoallthe treesof the field. Thereforehis heightwas exaltedabove allthe treesof the field, and his boughswere multiplied, and his branchesbecame longbecause of the multitudeof waters, when he shot forth. Allthe fowlsof heavenmade their nestsin his boughs, and underhis branchesdid allthe beastsof the fieldbring forth their young, and under his shadowdweltallgreatnations. Thus was he fairin his greatness, in the lengthof his branches: forhis rootwasbygreatwaters. The cedarsin the gardenof Godcould nothidehim: the fir treeswere not likehis boughs, and the chestnut treeswerenotlike his branches; noranytreein the gardenof Godwas likeuntohim in his beauty. I have madehim fairby the multitudeof his branches: so that allthe treesof Eden, that were in the gardenof God, enviedhim. Thereforethussaiththe LordGOD; Becausethou hast lifted upthyself in height, and he hath shot uphis topamongthe thick boughs, and his heartis lifted upin his height; I have therefore deliveredhim into the handof the mighty oneof the heathen; he shall surely dealwith him: I have driven him outfor his wickedness. And strangers, the terribleof the nations, have cut him off, and have lefthim: uponthe mountainsand in allthe valleyshis branchesare fallen, and his boughsare brokenby allthe riversof the land; and allthe peopleof the earthare gone downfrom his shadow, and have lefthim. Uponhis ruinshall allthe fowlsof the heavenremain, and allthe beastsof the fieldshall beuponhis branches: To the endthatnoneof allthe treesby the watersexalt themselvesfor their height, neithershoot uptheir topamongthe thick boughs, neithertheir treesstand upin their height, allthat drinkwater: forthey are alldeliveredunto death, tothe nether partsof the earth, in the midstof the childrenof men, withthem that go downto the pit. Thussaiththe LordGOD; In the daywhen he went downto the graveI caused a mourning: I coveredthe deepforhim, and I restrainedthe floodsthereof, and the greatwaterswere stayed: and I caused Lebanonto mournforhim, and allthe treesof the fieldfaintedforhim. I made the nationsto shakeat the soundof his fall, when I cast him downto hellwiththem that descendinto the pit: and allthe treesof Eden, the choiceand bestof Lebanon, allthat drinkwater, shall be comfortedin the nether partsof the earth. Theyalsowent downinto hellwithhim unto them that be slainwith the sword; and they that were his arm, that dweltunder his shadowin the midstof the heathen. Towhomart thou thus likein gloryand in greatnessamong the treesof Eden? yet shalt thou be brought downwiththe treesof Edenuntothe nether partsof the earth: thou shalt liein the midstof the uncircumcisedwith them that be slainby the sword. This is Pharaohand allhis multitude, saiththe LordGOD.
