At thattime, saiththe LORD, they shall bring outthe bonesof the kingsof Judah, and the bonesof his princes, and the bonesof the priests, and the bonesof the prophets, and the bonesof the inhabitantsof Jerusalem, out of their graves: And they shall spreadthem before the sun, and the moon, and allthe hostof heaven, whomthey have loved, and whomthey have served, and afterwhomthey have walked, and whomthey have sought, and whomthey have worshiped: they shall notbe gathered, norbe buried; they shall befor dunguponthe faceof the earth. And deathshall be chosenrather than lifeby allthe residueof them that remainofthisevilfamily, which remainin allthe placeswhitherI have driventhem, saiththe LORDof hosts. Moreover thou shalt sayuntothem, Thussaiththe LORD; Shall they fall, and notarise? shall he turn away, and notreturn? The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayedand taken: lo, they have rejectedthe wordof the LORD; and whatwisdom is in them? Thereforewill I givetheir wivesunto others, and their fieldsto them that shall inherit them : forevery onefrom the leasteven untothe greatestis given to covetousness, from the propheteven untothe priestevery onedealethfalsely. For they have healedthe hurtof the daughterof my peopleslightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is nopeace. Were they ashamedwhenthey had committedabomination? nay, they were notat all ashamed, neithercouldthey blush: thereforeshall they fallamong them that fall: in the timeof their visitationthey shall be cast down, saiththe LORD. I will surely consumethem, saiththe LORD: there shall be nograpeson the vine, norfigson the fig tree, and the leafshall fade; and the things that I have giventhem shall pass awayfrom them. Whydo wesitstill? assemble yourselves, and let us enterintothe defensedcities, and let us be silentthere: forthe LORDour Godhath put us to silence, and given us waterof gallto drink, becausewe have sinnedagainst the LORD. We lookedfor peace, but nogood came; and for a timeof health, and beholdtrouble! The snortingof his horseswas heardfrom Dan: the wholelandtrembledat the soundof the neighingof his strong ones; for they are come, and have devouredthe land, and allthat is in it; the city, and those that dwelltherein. For, behold, I will sendserpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall biteyou, saiththe LORD. When I would comfortmyself againstsorrow, my heart is faintinme. Beholdthe voiceof the cryof the daughterof my peoplebecause of them that dwell in a farcountry: Is notthe LORDin Zion? is nother kingin her? Whyhave they provoked me to angerwith their graven images, and with strangevanities? The harvestis past, the summeris ended, and weare notsaved. Forthe hurtof the daughterof my peopleam I hurt; I am black; astonishmenthath taken holdon me. Is there nobalmin Gilead; is there nophysicianthere? whythenis notthe healthof the daughterof my peoplerecovered?
