Run ye to and frothrough the streetsof Jerusalem, and seenow, and know, and seekin the broad placesthereof, ifye can finda man, ifthere be any that executethjudgment, that seekeththe truth; and I will pardonit. And thoughthey say, The LORDliveth; surelythey swearfalsely. O LORD, are notthine eyesupon the truth? thou hast strickenthem, but they have notgrieved; thou hast consumedthem, but they have refusedto receivecorrection: they have made their facesharderthan a rock; they have refusedto return. Therefore Isaid, Surelythese are poor; they are foolish: forthey knownotthe wayof the LORD, nor the judgmentof their God. I will getme untothe great men, and will speak untothem; fortheyhave knownthe wayof the LORD, and the judgmentof their God: butthesehave altogetherbrokenthe yoke, and burstthe bonds. Whereforea lionout of the forestshall slaythem, and a wolfof the eveningsshall spoilthem, a leopardshall watchovertheir cities: every onethat goeth outthenceshall be torn in pieces: becausetheir transgressionsare many, and their backslidingsare increased. Howshall I pardonthee for this? thy childrenhave forsakenme, and swornby them that are nogods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselvesby troops in the harlotshouses. They were as fedhorsesin the morning: every oneneighedafterhis neighbor's wife. Shall I notvisitforthese things ? saiththe LORD: andshall notmy soulbe avengedon sucha nationas this? Go ye upupon her walls, and destroy; but makenota full end: take awayher battlements; forthey are notthe LORD's. Forthe houseof Israeland the houseof Judahhave dealt very treacherouslyagainst me, saiththe LORD. They have beliedthe LORD, and said, It is nothe; neithershall evilcomeuponus; neithershall we seeswordnor famine: And the prophetsshall becomewind, and the word is notin them: thusshall it be doneunto them. Whereforethussaiththe LORDGodof hosts, Becauseye speakthisword, behold, I will makemy wordsin thy mouthfire, and thispeoplewood, and it shall devourthem. Lo, I will bringa nationuponyou from far, O houseof Israel, saiththe LORD: it is a mightynation, it is an ancientnation, a nationwhose languagethou knowestnot, neitherunderstandestwhatthey say. Their quiver is as an opensepulcher, they are allmighty men. And they shall eat upthine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sonsand thy daughtersshould eat: they shall eat upthy flocksand thine herds: they shall eat upthy vinesand thy fig trees: they shall impoverishthy fencedcities, whereinthoutrustedst, with the sword. Neverthelessin thosedays, saiththe LORD, I will notmakea full endwithyou. And it shall come to pass, whenye shall say, Whereforedoeththe LORDour Godallthese things unto us? then shalt thou answerthem, Likeas ye have forsakenme, and servedstrangegodsin your land, soshall ye servestrangersin a land that is notyours. Declarethisin the houseof Jacob, and publishit in Judah, saying, Hearnowthis, O foolishpeople, and withoutunderstanding; which have eyes, and seenot; which have ears, and hearnot: Fearye notme? saiththe LORD: will ye nottrembleat my presence, whichhave placedthe sand for the boundof the seaby a perpetualdecree, that it cannotpassit: and though the wavesthereof toss themselves, yet can they notprevail; though they roar, yet can they notpass overit? But thispeoplehatha revoltingand a rebelliousheart; they are revoltedand gone. Neithersaythey in their heart, Let us nowfearthe LORDour God, that givethrain, both the formerand the latter, in his season: he reservethunto us the appointedweeksof the harvest. Your iniquitieshave turned awaythese things , and your sinshave withheldgood things fromyou. Foramong my peopleare foundwicked men : they lay wait, as he that settethsnares; they seta trap, they catchmen. As a cageis fullof birds, so are their housesfullof deceit: thereforethey are become great, and waxen rich. They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpassthe deedsof the wicked: they judgenotthe cause, the causeof the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the rightof the needydo they notjudge. Shall I notvisitforthese things ? saiththe LORD: shall notmy soulbe avengedon sucha nationas this? A wonderfuland horrible thingis committedin the land; The prophetsprophesyfalsely, and the priestsbear rulebytheir means; and my peoplelove to have it so: and whatwill ye doin the endthereof?
