The sinof Judah is writtenwith a penof iron, and with the pointof a diamond: it is gravenuponthe tableof their heart, and upon the hornsof your altars; Whilst their childrenremembertheir altarsand their grovesbythe greentreesuponthe highhills. O my mountainin the field, I will givethy substance and allthy treasuresto the spoil, and thy high placesfor sin, throughout allthy borders. And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinuefrom thine heritagethatI gavethee; and I will cause thee to servethine enemiesin the landwhichthou knowestnot: forye have kindleda firein mine anger, which shall burnforever. Thussaiththe LORD; Cursed be the manthattrustethin man, and makethfleshhis arm, and whose heartdepartethfromthe LORD. For he shall belike the heathin the desert, and shall notseewhengoodcometh; but shall inhabitthe parched placesin the wilderness, in a saltlandand notinhabited. Blessed is the manthattrustethin the LORD, and whose hopethe LORDis. For he shall beas a treeplantedbythe waters, and that spreadeth outher rootsbythe river, and shall notseewhenheatcometh, but her leafshall begreen; and shall notbe carefulin the yearof drought, neithershall ceasefrom yieldingfruit. The heart is deceitfulabove all things , and desperately wicked: whocan knowit? Ithe LORDsearchthe heart, I trythe reins, even to giveevery manaccording to his ways, and according to the fruitof his doings. As the partridgesitteth on eggs , and hatcheth them not; so he that gettethriches, and notby right, shall leavethem in the midstof his days, and at his endshall bea fool. A glorioushighthronefrom the beginning is the placeof our sanctuary. O LORD, the hopeof Israel, allthat forsakethee shall be ashamed, and they that depart fromme shall be writtenin the earth, becausethey have forsakenthe LORD, the fountainof livingwaters. Healme, O LORD, and I shall be healed; saveme, and I shall be saved: forthou art my praise. Behold, theysayuntome, Where is the wordof the LORD? let it comenow. As for me, Ihave nothastenedfrom being a pastorto followthee: neitherhave I desiredthe woefulday; thouknowest: that which cameout ofmy lipswas right beforethee. Benota terrorunto me: thou art my hopein the dayof evil. Let them be confoundedthat persecuteme, but let notmebe confounded: let thembe dismayed, but let notmebe dismayed: bringuponthem the dayof evil, and destroythem with doubledestruction. Thussaidthe LORDuntome; Goand standin the gateof the childrenof the people, wherebythe kingsof Judahcome in, and by the whichthey go out, and in allthe gatesof Jerusalem; And sayuntothem, Hearye the wordof the LORD, ye kingsof Judah, and allJudah, and allthe inhabitantsof Jerusalem, that enter inby thesegates: Thussaiththe LORD; Take heedto yourselves, and bearnoburdenon the sabbathday, nor bring it inby the gatesof Jerusalem; Neithercarry fortha burdenout of your houseson the sabbathday, neitherdoye anywork, but hallowye the sabbathday, asI commandedyour fathers. But they obeyednot, neitherinclinedtheir ear, but made their neckstiff, that they might nothear, norreceiveinstruction. And it shall come to pass, ifye diligently hearkenuntome, saiththe LORD, to bring innoburdenthrough the gatesof thiscityon the sabbathday, but hallowthe sabbathday, to donoworktherein; Then shall there enterinto the gatesof thiscitykingsand princessittinguponthe throneof David, ridingin chariotsand on horses, they, and their princes, the menof Judah, and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem: and thiscityshall remainforever. And they shall comefrom the citiesof Judah, and from the places aboutJerusalem, and from the landof Benjamin, and fromthe plain, and fromthe mountains, and fromthe south, bringingburnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringingsacrifices of praise, unto the houseof the LORD. But ifye will nothearkenuntome to hallowthe sabbathday, and notto beara burden, even enteringin at the gatesof Jerusalemon the sabbathday; then will I kindlea firein the gatesthereof, and it shall devourthe palacesof Jerusalem, and it shall notbe quenched.
