Whohath believedour report? and towhomis the armof the LORDrevealed? For he shall grow upbeforehim as a tender plant, and as a rootout of a dryground: he hath noformnorcomeliness; and when we shall seehim, there is nobeautythat we should desirehim. He is despisedand rejectedof men; a manof sorrows, and acquaintedwith grief: and we hidas it were our facesfromhim; he was despised, and we esteemedhim not. Surelyhehath borneour griefs, and carriedour sorrows: yet wedid esteemhim stricken, smittenof God, and afflicted. But he was woundedfor our transgressions, he was bruisedfor our iniquities: the chastisementof our peace was uponhim; and with his stripeswe are healed. Allwe like sheephave gone astray; we have turnedevery oneto his own way; and the LORDhath laidon him the iniquityof us all. He was oppressed, and hewas afflicted, yet he openednothis mouth: he is broughtas a lambto the slaughter, and as a sheepbeforeher shearersis dumb, so he openethnothis mouth. He was takenfrom prisonand from judgment: and whoshall declarehis generation? forhe was cut offout of the landof the living: for the transgressionof my peoplewas he stricken. And he madehis gravewiththe wicked, and withthe richin his death; becausehe had donenoviolence, neither was any deceitin his mouth. Yet it pleasedthe LORDto bruisehim; he hath put him to grief: whenthou shalt makehis soulan offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasureof the LORDshall prosperin his hand. He shall seeof the travailof his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledgeshall my righteousservantjustifymany; for heshall beartheir iniquities. Thereforewill I dividehim a portion with the great, and he shall dividethe spoilwiththe strong; becausehe hath poured outhis soulunto death: and hewas numberedwiththe transgressors; and he borethe sinof many, and made intercessionfor the transgressors.
