Behold, a kingshall reignin righteousness, and princesshall rulein judgment. And a manshall beas a hiding placefrom the wind, and a covertfrom the tempest; as riversof waterin a dry place, as the shadowof a greatrockin a wearyland. And the eyesof them that seeshall notbe dim, and the earsof them that hearshall hearken. The heartalso of the rashshall understandknowledge, and the tongueof the stammerersshall be readyto speakplainly. The vile personshall be nomorecalledliberal, northe churlsaid to be bountiful. Forthe vile personwill speakvillainy, and his heartwill workiniquity, to practicehypocrisy, and to uttererroragainstthe LORD, to make emptythe soulof the hungry, and he will cause the drinkof the thirstyto fail. The instrumentsalso of the churl are evil: hedevisethwicked devicesto destroythe poorwith lyingwords, even when the needyspeakethright. But the liberaldevisethliberal things; and byliberal thingsshall he stand. Rise up, ye womenthat are at ease; hearmy voice, ye carelessdaughters; give earunto my speech. Many daysand yearsshall ye be troubled, ye careless women: forthe vintageshall fail, the gatheringshall notcome. Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: stripyou, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. They shall lamentforthe teats, forthe pleasantfields, forthe fruitfulvine. Uponthe landof my peopleshall come upthorns and briers; yea, uponallthe housesof joy in the joyouscity: Becausethe palacesshall be forsaken; the multitudeof the cityshall be left; the fortsand towersshall befordensforever, a joyof wild asses, a pastureof flocks; Untilthe spiritbe poureduponus from on high, and the wildernessbea fruitful field, and the fruitful fieldbe countedfor a forest. Then judgmentshall dwellin the wilderness, and righteousnessremainin the fruitful field. And the workof righteousnessshall bepeace; and the effectof righteousnessquietnessand assuranceforever. And my peopleshall dwellin a peaceablehabitation, and in suredwellings, and in quietresting places; When it shall hail, coming downon the forest; and the cityshall be lowin a low place. Blessed are ye that sowbesideallwaters, that send forth thither the feetof the oxand the ass.
