To the chief Musician, A Psalmof David. I waitedpatientlyfor the LORD; and he inclineduntome, and heardmy cry. He brought me upalso out of a horriblepit, out of the miryclay, and setmy feetupona rock, and establishedmy goings. And he hath puta newsongin my mouth, even praiseunto our God: manyshall see it , and fear, and shall trustin the LORD. Blessed is that manthatmakeththe LORDhis trust, and respectethnotthe proud, nor such as turn asideto lies. Many, O LORDmy God, are thy wonderful works which thouhast done, and thy thoughts which are tousward: they cannotbe reckoned up in orderunto thee: if I would declareand speak of them , they are morethan can be numbered. Sacrificeand offeringthou didst notdesire; mine earshast thou opened: burnt offeringand sin offeringhast thou notrequired. ThensaidI, Lo, I come: in the volumeof the book it is writtenofme, I delightto dothy will, O my God: yea, thy law is withinmy heart. I have preachedrighteousnessin the greatcongregation: lo, I have notrefrainedmy lips, O LORD, thouknowest. I have nothidthy righteousnesswithinmy heart; I have declaredthy faithfulnessand thy salvation: I have notconcealedthy lovingkindnessand thy truthfrom the greatcongregation. Withholdnotthouthy tender merciesfromme, O LORD: let thy lovingkindnessand thy truthcontinuallypreserveme. Forinnumerableevilshave compassed me about: mine iniquitieshave taken holdupon me, so that I am notableto look up; they are morethan the hairsof mine head: therefore my heartfailethme. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliverme: O LORD, make hasteto helpme. Let them be ashamedand confoundedtogetherthat seek aftermy soulto destroyit; let them be drivenbackwardand put to shamethat wishme evil. Let them be desolatefora rewardof their shamethat sayunto me, Aha, aha. Let allthose that seekthee rejoiceand be gladin thee: let such as lovethy salvationsaycontinually, The LORDbe magnified. But I am poorand needy; yet the Lordthinkethupon me: thou art my helpand my deliverer; make notarrying, O my God.
