Whystandestthou afar off, O LORD? why hidestthou thyself in timesof trouble? The wickedin his pridedoth persecutethe poor: let them be takenin the devicesthatthey have imagined. Forthe wickedboastethofhis heart's desire, and blesseththe covetous, whom the LORDabhorreth. The wicked, through the prideof his countenance, will notseek after God : God is notin allhis thoughts. His waysare alwaysgrievous; thy judgments are far aboveout of his sight: as for allhis enemies, he puffethat them. He hath saidin his heart, I shall notbe moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouthis fullof cursingand deceitand fraud: underhis tongue is mischiefand vanity. He sittethin the lurking placesof the villages: in the secret placesdoth he murderthe innocent: his eyesare privily setagainst the poor. He lieth in waitsecretlyas a lionin his den: he lieth in waitto catchthe poor: he doth catchthe poor, when he drawethhim into his net. He croucheth, and humblethhimself, that the poormay fallby his strong ones. He hath saidin his heart, Godhath forgotten: he hidethhis face; he will neversee it . Arise, O LORD; O God, lift upthine hand: forgetnotthe humble. Whereforedoth the wickedcontemnGod? he hath saidin his heart, Thou wilt notrequire it . Thou hast seen it ; forthoubeholdestmischiefand spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poorcommittethhimself untothee; thouartthe helperof the fatherless. Breakthou the armof the wickedand the evil man : seek outhis wickedness till thou findnone. The LORD is Kingforeverand ever: the heathenare perishedout of his land. LORD, thou hast heardthe desireof the humble: thou wilt preparetheir heart, thou wilt cause thine earto hear: To judgethe fatherlessand the oppressed, that the manofthe earthmay nomoreoppress.
