Furthermore Elihuansweredand said, Hearmy words, O ye wise men ; and give earunto me, ye that have knowledge. Forthe eartriethwords, as the mouthtastethmeat. Let us chooseto us judgment: let us knowamongourselves what is good. ForJobhath said, I am righteous: and Godhath taken awaymy judgment. Should I lieagainstmy right? my wound is incurablewithouttransgression. Whatman is like Job, who drinketh upscorninglike water? Which goethin companywiththe workersof iniquity, and walkethwithwickedmen. Forhe hath said, It profitetha mannothingthat he should delighthimself withGod. Thereforehearkenunto me, ye menof understanding: far be itfrom God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. Forthe workof a manshall he renderunto him, and cause every manto findaccording to his ways. Yea, surelyGodwill notdo wickedly, neitherwill the Almightypervertjudgment. Whohath given him a chargeover the earth? or whohath disposedthe wholeworld? Ifhe sethis heartuponman, if he gatheruntohimself his spiritand his breath; Allfleshshall perishtogether, and manshall turn againuntodust. Ifnow thou hast understanding, hearthis: hearkento the voiceof my words. Shall evenhe that hatethrightgovern? and wilt thou condemnhim that is mostjust? Is it fit to sayto a king, Thou art wicked? and toprinces, Ye are ungodly? How much less to him thatacceptethnotthe personsof princes, norregardeththe richmore thanthe poor? forthey all are the workof his hands. In a momentshall they die, and the peopleshall be troubledat midnight, and pass away: and the mightyshall be taken awaywithouthand. Forhis eyes are uponthe waysof man, and he seethallhis goings. There is nodarkness, norshadow of death, wherethe workersof iniquitymay hide themselves. Forhe will notlayuponmanmore than right ; that he should enterinto judgmentwithGod. He shall break in piecesmighty menwithoutnumber, and setothersin their stead. Thereforehe knoweththeir works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed. He strikeththem aswicked menin the opensightof others; Becausethey turned backfromhim, and would notconsideranyof his ways: So that they cause the cryof the poorto comeuntohim, and he heareththe cryof the afflicted. When hegiveth quietness, whothen can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, whothen can beholdhim? whether it be done againsta nation, or againsta manonly: That the hypocritereign not, lest the peoplebe ensnared. Surely it is meetto be saiduntoGod, I have borne chastisement , I will notoffend any more : That which I seenotteachthoume: ifI have doneiniquity, I will donomore. Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompenseit, whetherthou refuse, or whetherthouchoose; and notI: therefore speakwhatthou knowest. Let menof understandingtellme, and let a wisemanhearkenunto me. Jobhath spokenwithoutknowledge, and his words were withoutwisdom. My desire is that Jobmay be trieduntothe endbecauseof his answersfor wickedmen. Forhe addethrebellionuntohis sin, he clappeth his hands amongus, and multipliethhis wordsagainst God.
