Then answeredZopharthe Naamathite, and said, Should notthe multitudeof wordsbe answered? and shoulda manfull of talkbe justified? Should thy liesmake menhold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall noman make thee ashamed? For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I amcleanin thine eyes. Butoh thatGodwouldspeak, and openhis lipsagainstthee; And that he would showthee the secretsof wisdom, that they are doubleto that which is! Knowtherefore thatGodexactethof thee less than thine iniquity deserveth . Canst thou by searchingfind outGod? canst thou find outthe Almightyuntoperfection? It is as highas heaven; whatcanst thou do? deeperthan hell; whatcanst thou know? The measurethereof is longerthan the earth, and broaderthanthe sea. Ifhe cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then whocan hinderhim? Forheknowethvainmen: he seethwickednessalso; will he notthen consider it ? For vainmanwould be wise, though manbe born like a wild ass's colt. Ifthoupreparethine heart, and stretch outthine handstowardhim; Ifiniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let notwickednessdwellin thy tabernacles. Forthenshalt thou lift upthy facewithout spot; yea, thou shalt besteadfast, and shalt notfear: Becausethoushalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: And thine ageshall be clearerthan the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt beas the morning. And thou shalt be secure, becausethereis hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy restin safety. Also thou shalt lie down, and noneshall make thee afraid; yea, manyshall make suituntothee. But the eyesof the wickedshall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving upof the ghost.
