Furthermore Davidthe kingsaidunto allthe congregation, Solomonmy son, whom aloneGodhath chosen, is yet youngand tender, and the work is great: forthe palace is notfor man, butfor the LORDGod. Now I have preparedwith allmy mightfor the houseof my Godthe goldfor things to be made of gold, and the silverfor things of silver, and the brassfor things of brass, the ironfor things of iron, and woodfor things of wood; onyxstones, and stones to be set, glisteringstones, and of divers colors, and all mannerof preciousstones, and marblestonesin abundance. Moreover, because I have set my affectionto the houseof my God, I haveof mine own proper good, of goldand silver, which I have givento the houseof my God, overand above allthat I have preparedfor the holyhouse, Even threethousandtalentsof gold, of the goldof Ophir, and seventhousandtalentsof refinedsilver, to overlaythe wallsof the houses withal : The goldfor things of gold, and the silverfor things of silver, and for all mannerof work to be made by the handsof artificers. And who then is willingto consecrate his servicethis dayunto the LORD? Then the chiefof the fathersand princesof the tribesof Israel, and the captainsof thousandsand of hundreds, with the rulersof the king's work, offered willingly, And gavefor the serviceof the houseof Godof goldfivethousandtalentsand ten thousanddrams, and of silvertenthousandtalents, and of brasseighteen thousandtalents, and one hundredthousandtalentsof iron. And they withwhom precious stoneswere foundgave them to the treasureof the houseof the LORD, bythe handof Jehielthe Gershonite. Then the peoplerejoiced, forthat they offered willingly, becausewith perfectheartthey offered willinglyto the LORD: and Davidthe kingalsorejoicedwith greatjoy. Wherefore Davidblessedthe LORDbeforeallthe congregation: and Davidsaid, Blessed be thou, LORDGodof Israelour father, foreverand ever. Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: forall that is in the heavenand in the earth is thine ; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exaltedas headabove all. Both richesand honor come ofthee, and thoureignestover all; and in thine hand is powerand might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strengthunto all. Nowtherefore, our God, wethankthee, and praisethy gloriousname. Butwho am I, and what is my people, thatwe should be ableto offer so willinglyafter this sort? forall things come ofthee, and of thine ownhave we giventhee. Forwe are strangersbeforethee, and sojourners, as were allour fathers: our daysonthe earth are as a shadow, and there is noneabiding. O LORDour God, allthisstorethatwe have preparedto buildthee a housefor thine holyname cometh of thine hand, and is allthine own. I knowalso, my God, thatthoutriestthe heart, and hast pleasurein uprightness. As for me, in the uprightnessof mine heartI have willingly offeredallthese things: and nowhave I seenwith joythy people, which are presenthere, to offer willinglyunto thee. O LORDGodof Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keepthisforeverin the imaginationof the thoughtsof the heartof thy people, and preparetheir heartuntothee: And giveunto Solomonmy sona perfectheart, to keepthy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doall these things , and to buildthe palace, for the whichI have made provision. And Davidsaidto allthe congregation, Nowblessthe LORDyour God. And allthe congregationblessedthe LORDGodof their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipedthe LORD, and the king. And they sacrificedsacrificesunto the LORD, and offeredburnt offeringsunto the LORD, on the morrowafter thatday, even a thousandbullocks, a thousandrams, and a thousandlambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrificesin abundancefor allIsrael: And did eatand drinkbeforethe LORDon thatdaywith greatgladness. And they madeSolomonthe sonof Davidking the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest. Then Solomonsatonthe throneof the LORDas kinginstead ofDavidhis father, and prospered; and allIsraelobeyedhim. And allthe princes, and the mighty men, and allthe sonslikewiseof kingDavid, submittedthemselves untoSolomonthe king. And the LORDmagnifiedSolomonexceedinglyin the sightof allIsrael, and bestoweduponhim such royalmajestyashad notbeenonanykingbeforehim inIsrael. Thus Davidthe sonof JessereignedoverallIsrael. And the timethathe reignedoverIsrael was fortyyears; sevenyearsreignedhe in Hebron, and thirtyand three years reignedhe in Jerusalem. And he diedin a good old age, fullof days, riches, and honor: and Solomonhis sonreignedin his stead. Now the actsof Davidthe king, firstand last, behold, they are writteninthe bookof Samuelthe seer, and inthe bookof Nathanthe prophet, and inthe bookof Gadthe seer, Withallhis reignand his might, and the timesthatwent overhim, and overIsrael, and overallthe kingdomsof the countries.
