And when they had strippedhim, they tookhis head, and his armor, and sentinto the landof the Philistinesround about, to carry tidingsunto their idols, and to the people. And they puthis armorin the houseof their gods, and fastenedhis headin the templeof Dagon. And when allJabesh-gilead heardallthatthe Philistineshad doneto Saul, They arose, allthe valiantmen, and took awaythe bodyof Saul, and the bodiesof his sons, and broughtthem to Jabesh, and buriedtheir bonesunderthe oakin Jabesh, and fastedsevendays. So Sauldiedfor his transgressionwhichhe committedagainst the LORD, even againstthe wordof the LORD, whichhe keptnot, and alsofor asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it ; And inquirednotof the LORD: therefore he slewhim, and turnedthe kingdomunto Davidthe sonof Jesse.
