And Jacobsaid, Thou shalt notgiveme any thing: ifthou wilt dothisthingfor me, I will againfeed and keepthy flock: I will pass throughallthy flocktoday, removingfrom thenceallthe speckledand spottedcattle, and allthe browncattleamong the sheep, and the spottedand speckledamong the goats: and of such shall bemy hire. So shall my righteousnessanswerfor me in timeto come, whenit shall comeformy hirebefore thy face: every onethat is notspeckledand spottedamong the goats, and brownamong the sheep, thatshall be counted stolenwithme. And Labansaid, Behold, I wouldit might beaccording to thy word. And the flocksconceivedbeforethe rods, and brought forthcattleringstreaked, speckled, and spotted. And Jacobdid separatethe lambs, and setthe facesof the flockstowardthe ringstreaked, and allthe brownin the flockof Laban; and he puthis own flocksby themselves, and putthem notuntoLaban's cattle. And it came to pass, whensoeverthe strongercattledid conceive, that Jacoblaidthe rodsbefore the eyesof the cattlein the gutters, that they might conceiveamong the rods. But when the cattlewere feeble, he put them notin: so the feeblerwereLaban's, and the strongerJacob's. And the manincreasedexceedingly, and hadmuchcattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.
