The LORDGodof heaven, whichtookme from my father's house, and from the landof my kindred, and whichspokeunto me, and thatsworeunto me, saying, Unto thy seedwill I givethisland; heshall sendhis angelbeforethee, and thou shalt takea wifeunto my sonfrom thence. And the servanttooktencamelsof the camelsof his master, and departed; for allthe goodsof his master were in his hand: and he arose, and wenttoMesopotamia, untothe cityof Nahor. And he made his camelsto kneel downwithoutthe citybya wellof waterat the timeof the evening, even the timethat women go outto draw water . And he said, O LORDGodof my masterAbraham, I pray thee, send me good speedthis day, and showkindnessuntomy masterAbraham. Behold, Istand here bythe wellof water; and the daughtersof the menof the citycome outto drawwater: And let it come to pass, that the damselto whomI shall say, Let downthy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camelsdrinkalso: let the same be she that thou hast appointedfor thy servantIsaac; and thereby shall I knowthatthou hast showedkindnessuntomy master. And it came to pass, beforehehad donespeaking, that, behold, Rebekahcame out, whowas bornto Bethuel, sonof Milcah, the wifeof Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcheruponher shoulder. And the damsel was veryfairto look upon, a virgin, neitherhad any manknownher: and she went downto the well, and filledher pitcher, and came up. And the servantranto meether, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drinka littlewaterof thy pitcher. And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let downher pitcheruponher hand, and gave him drink. And when she had donegiving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camelsalso, untilthey have donedrinking. And she hasted, and emptiedher pitcherintothe trough, and ranagainuntothe wellto draw water , and drewfor allhis camels. And the manwonderingat her held his peace, to knowwhether the LORDhad made his journeyprosperousornot. And it came to pass, asthe camelshad donedrinking, that the mantooka goldenearringof half a shekelweight, and twobraceletsforher handsof ten shekels weightof gold; And said, Whosedaughter art thou? tellme, I pray thee: is thereroom in thy father's housefor us to lodge in? And she saiduntohim, I am the daughterof Bethuelthe sonof Milcah, whichshe boreunto Nahor. She saidmoreover untohim, We have bothstrawandprovenderenough, androomto lodge in. And the manbowed down his head, and worshipedthe LORD. And he said, Blessed be the LORDGodof my masterAbraham, whohath notleft destitutemy masterof his mercyand his truth: I being in the way, the LORDledme to the houseof my master's brethren. And the damselran, and told them of her mother's housethesethings. And Rebekahhad a brother, and his name was Laban: and Labanranoutuntothe man, untothe well. And it came to pass, when he sawthe earringand braceletsuponhis sister's hands, and when he heardthe wordsof Rebekahhis sister, saying, Thusspokethe manuntome; that he cameuntothe man; and, behold, he stoodbythe camelsatthe well. And he said, Come in, thou blessedof the LORD; whereforestandestthou without? for Ihave preparedthe house, and roomfor the camels. And the mancameinto the house: and he ungirdedhis camels, and gavestrawand provenderfor the camels, and waterto washhis feet, and the men's feetthat were withhim. And there was set meat beforehim to eat: but he said, I will noteat, untilI have toldmine errand. And he said, Speak on. And he said, I am Abraham's servant. And the LORDhath blessedmy mastergreatly; and he is become great: and he hath givenhim flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. And Sarahmy master's wifeborea sonto my masterwhenshe was old: and unto him hath he givenallthathe hath. And beforeIhad donespeakinginmine heart, behold, Rebekahcame forthwith her pitcheronher shoulder; and she went downunto the well, and drew water : and I saiduntoher, Let me drink, I pray thee. And she made haste, and let downher pitcherfromher shoulder , and said, Drink, and I will give thy camelsdrinkalso: so I drank, and she made the camelsdrinkalso. And I askedher, and said, Whosedaughter art thou? And she said, The daughterof Bethuel, Nahor's son, whomMilcahboreunto him: and I putthe earringuponher face, and the braceletsuponher hands. And I bowed down my head, and worshipedthe LORD, and blessedthe LORDGodof my masterAbraham, whichhad ledme in the rightwayto takemy master's brother's daughterunto his son. And nowifye willdealkindlyand trulywithmy master, tellme: and ifnot, tellme; that I may turntothe right hand, ortothe left. Then Labanand Bethuelansweredand said, The thingproceedethfrom the LORD: we cannotspeakuntothee badorgood. Behold, Rebekah is beforethee, take her , and go, and let her bethy master's son's wife, asthe LORDhath spoken. And it came to pass, that, whenAbraham's servantheardtheir words, he worshipedthe LORD, bowing himself to the earth. And the servantbrought forthjewelsof silver, and jewelsof gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gavealso to her brotherand to her motherprecious things. And they did eatand drink, heand the menthat were withhim, and tarried all night; and they rose upin the morning, and he said, Send me awayunto my master. And her brotherand her mothersaid, Let the damselabidewithus a few days, at the leastten; after thatshe shall go. And he saiduntothem, Hinderme not, seeing the LORDhath prosperedmy way; send me awaythat I may goto my master. And they said, We will callthe damsel, and inquireat her mouth. And they calledRebekah, and saiduntoher, Wilt thou gowiththisman? And she said, I will go. And they sent awayRebekahtheir sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men. And they blessedRebekah, and saidunto her, Thou art our sister, bethou the mother of thousandsof millions, and let thy seedpossessthe gateof those which hatethem. And Rebekaharose, and her damsels, and they rodeuponthe camels, and followedthe man: and the servanttookRebekah, and went his way. And Isaaccamefrom the wayof the well Lahai-roi; for hedweltin the southcountry. And Isaacwent outto meditatein the fieldat the eventide: and he lifted uphis eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Rebekahlifted upher eyes, and when she sawIsaac, she lightedoffthe camel. For she had saiduntothe servant, Whatman is thisthat walkethin the fieldto meetus? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she tooka veil, and covered herself. And the servanttoldIsaacallthingsthathe had done. And Isaacbroughther into his motherSarah's tent, and tookRebekah, and she becamehis wife; and he lovedher: and Isaacwas comfortedafterhis mother's death .
