And he said, Takenowthy son, thine only son Isaac, whomthou lovest, and getthee intothe landof Moriah; and offerhim therefor a burnt offeringupononeof the mountainswhichI will tellthee of. And Abrahamrose up earlyin the morning, and saddledhis ass, and tooktwoof his young menwithhim, and Isaachis son, and cleavedthe woodfor the burnt offering, and rose up, and wentuntothe placeof whichGodhad toldhim. Then on the thirddayAbrahamlifted uphis eyes, and sawthe placeafar off. And Abrahamsaiduntohis young men, Abideye herewiththe ass; and Iand the ladwill goyonderand worship, and come againtoyou. And Abrahamtookthe woodof the burnt offering, and laid it uponIsaachis son; and he tookthe firein his hand, and a knife; and they wentbothof them together. And IsaacspokeuntoAbrahamhis father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Beholdthe fireand the wood: but where is the lambfor a burnt offering? And Abrahamsaid, My son, Godwill providehimself a lambfor a burnt offering: so they wentbothof them together. And they cametothe placewhichGodhad toldhim of; and Abrahambuiltan altarthere, and laid the wood in order, and boundIsaachis son, and laidhim onthe altaruponthe wood. And Abrahamstretched forthhis hand, and tookthe knifeto slayhis son. And the angelof the LORDcalleduntohim out ofheaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Laynotthine handuponthe lad, neitherdothou any thingunto him: fornowI knowthatthoufearestGod, seeing thou hast notwithheldthy son, thine only son fromme. And Abrahamlifted uphis eyes, and looked, and beholdbehind him a ramcaughtin a thicketby his horns: and Abrahamwentand tookthe ram, and offered him upfor a burnt offeringin the stead ofhis son. And Abrahamcalledthe nameof thatplaceJehovah-jireh: asit is said to this day, In the mountof the LORDit shall be seen. And the angelof the LORDcalleduntoAbrahamout ofheaventhe second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saiththe LORD, forbecausethou hast donethisthing, and hast notwithheldthy son, thine only son : Thatin blessingI will blessthee, and in multiplyingI will multiplythy seedas the starsof the heaven, and as the sandwhich is uponthe seashore; and thy seedshall possessthe gateof his enemies; And in thy seedshall allthe nationsof the earthbe blessed; becausethou hast obeyedmy voice. So Abrahamreturneduntohis young men, and they rose upand wenttogethertoBeer-sheba; and Abrahamdweltat Beer-sheba. And it came to passafterthesethings, that it was toldAbraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, shehath alsobornchildrenunto thy brotherNahor; Huzhis firstborn, and Buzhis brother, and Kemuelthe fatherof Aram, And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. And BethuelbegotRebekah: theseeightMilcahdid bearto Nahor, Abraham's brother. And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, sheborealsoTebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
