And Lotalso, which wentwithAbram, hadflocks, and herds, and tents. And the landwas notable to bearthem, that they might dwelltogether: fortheir substancewasgreat, so that they couldnotdwelltogether. And there wasa strifebetweenthe herdsmenof Abram's cattleand the herdsmenof Lot's cattle: and the Canaaniteand the Perizzitedwelledthenin the land. And AbramsaiduntoLot, Let there benostrife, I pray thee, betweenme and thee, and betweenmy herdsmenand thy herdsmen; forwe be brethren. Is notthe wholelandbeforethee? separate thyself, I pray thee, fromme: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. And Lotlifted uphis eyes, and beheldallthe plainof Jordan, thatit was well wateredevery where, beforethe LORDdestroyedSodomand Gomorrah, even as the gardenof the LORD, like the landof Egypt, as thou comestunto Zoar. Then Lotchosehim allthe plainof Jordan; and Lotjourneyedeast: and they separated themselvesthe onefromthe other. Abramdwelledin the landof Canaan, and Lotdwelledin the citiesof the plain, and pitched his tenttowardSodom. But the menof Sodom were wickedand sinnersbefore the LORDexceedingly. And the LORDsaiduntoAbram, after thatLotwas separatedfromhim, Lift upnowthine eyes, and lookfromthe placewherethouart northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: Forallthe landwhichthouseest, to thee will I giveit, and to thy seedforever. And I will makethy seedas the dustof the earth: so thatifa mancannumberthe dustof the earth, then shall thy seedalsobe numbered. Arise, walkthrough the landin the lengthof it and in the breadthof it; forI will giveit unto thee. Then Abramremoved his tent, and cameand dweltin the plainof Mamre, which is in Hebron, and builttherean altarunto the LORD.
