Peterthereforewent forth, andthat otherdisciple, andcametothesepulcher. Sothey ranbothtogether: andtheotherdiscipledid outrunPeterandcamefirsttothesepulcher. Andhe stooping down, and looking in, sawthelinen clotheslying; yetwent he not in. ThencomethSimonPeterfollowinghim, andwentintothesepulcher, andseeththelinen clotheslie, Andthenapkin, thatwasabouthishead, notlyingwiththelinen clothes, butwrapped togetherinaplaceby itself. Thenwent inalsothatotherdisciple, which camefirsttothesepulcher, andhe saw, andbelieved. Foras yet they knew nottheScripture, thathemustrise againfromthe dead. Thenthediscipleswent awayagainuntotheir own home. ButMarystoodwithoutatthesepulcherweeping: andasshe wept, she stooped down, and looked intothesepulcher, Andseethtwoangelsinwhitesitting, the oneatthehead, andthe otheratthefeet, wherethebodyof Jesushad lain. Andtheysayunto her, Woman, whyweepestthou? She saithunto them, Becausethey have taken awaymyLord, andI knownotwherethey have laidhim. Andwhen she had thussaid, she turnedherself back, andsawJesusstanding, andknewnotthatit wasJesus. Jesussaithunto her, Woman, whyweepest thou? whomseekest thou? She, supposinghimto bethegardener, saithunto him, Sir, ifthouhave bornehimhence, tellmewherethou hast laidhim, and Iwill take him away. Jesussaithunto her, Mary. Sheturnedherself, and saithunto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesussaithunto her, Touchmenot; for I am not yetascendedtomyFather: butgotomybrethren, andsay unto them, I ascenduntomyFather, andyourFather; and to myGod, andyourGod. MaryMagdalenecameand toldthedisciplesthatshe had seentheLord, and that he had spokenthese thingsunto her. Thenthesamedayat evening, beingthefirst day of theweek, whenthedoorswere shutwherethediscipleswereassembledforfearof theJews, cameJesusandstoodinthemidst, andsaithunto them, Peace be unto you. Andaftereightdaysagainhisdiscipleswerewithin, andThomaswiththem: then cameJesus, thedoorsbeing shut, andstoodinthemidst, andsaid, Peace, be unto you. Thensaithhe to Thomas, Reachhitherthyfinger, andbeholdmyhands; andreach hither thyhand, andthrust it intomyside: andbenotfaithless, butbelieving. AndThomasansweredandsaidunto him, MyLordandmyGod. Jesussaithunto him, Thomas, because thou hast seenme, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. AndmanyothersignstrulydidJesusin the presenceof hisdisciples, whicharenotwritteninthisbook: Buttheseare written, thatye might believethatJesusistheChrist, theSonof God; andthatbelievingye might havelifethroughhisname.
