Andit came to passafterward, thathewent throughoutevery cityandvillage, preachingandshowing the glad tidingsof thekingdomof God: andthetwelve were withhim, Andcertainwomen, whichhad beenhealedofevilspiritsandinfirmities, MarycalledMagdalene, out ofwhomwentsevendevils, AndJoannathe wifeof ChuzaHerod's steward, andSusanna, andmanyothers, whichministeredunto himoftheirsubstance. Andwhen muchpeoplewere gathered together, andwere cometohimout of every city, he spakebya parable: A sower went out to sowhisseed: and as hesowed, somefellbythe way side; and it was trodden down, andthefowls of theairdevouredit. Andsomefellupon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lackedmoisture. Andsomefellamongthorns; andthethorns sprang up with it, and chokedit. Andotherfellongoodground, and sprang up, and barefruit a hundredfold. And when he hadsaidthese things, he cried, He that hathears to hear, let him hear. Andhisdisciplesaskedhim, saying, Whatmight thisparablebe? Andhesaid, Unto you it is given to knowthemysteries of thekingdom of God: but to othersinparables; thatseeing they might notsee, andhearing they might notunderstand. Nowtheparableisthis: Theseedistheword of God. Thosebythe way sideare they that hear; thencomeththedevil, and taketh awaytheword out oftheirhearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Theyontherock are they, which, when they hear, receivethewordwithjoy; andthesehavenoroot, whichfor a whilebelieve, andintime of temptation fall away. And that which fellamongthornsare they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are chokedwithcaresandrichesandpleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. Butthatonthegoodgroundarethey, which in an honestandgoodheart, having heardtheword, keep it, and bring forth fruitwithpatience. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, coverethit with a vessel, orputteth it under a bed; butsetteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may seethelight. Fornothingissecret, that shall not be mademanifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be knownandcomeabroad. Take heedthereforehow ye hear: forwhosoeverhath, to him shall be given; andwhosoeverhathnot, fromhim shall be takeneven that which he seemeth to have. Thencametohim his motherandhisbrethren, andcouldnotcome athimforthepress. Andit was toldhim by certain which said, Thymotherandthybrethrenstandwithout, desiringto seethee. Andheansweredand saiduntothem, Mymotherandmybrethrenarethese which heartheword of God, anddoit. Nowit came to passona certainday, thathewentintoa shipwithhisdisciples: andhe saiduntothem, Let us go overuntothe other side of thelake. Andthey launched forth. Butas theysailedhe fell asleep: andthere came downa stormof windonthelake; andthey were filled with water, andwere in jeopardy. Andthey cameto him, and awokehim, saying, Master, master, we perish. Thenhearose, and rebukedthewindandtheragingof thewater: andthey ceased, andthere wasa calm. Andhe saidunto them, Whereisyourfaith? Andthey being afraidwondered, sayingone to another, What manner of manisthis! forhe commandetheventhewindsandwater, andthey obeyhim. Andthey arrivedatthecountryof theGadarenes, whichisover againstGalilee. Andwhen hewent forthtoland, there methimout ofthecitya certainman, whichhaddevilslong time, andworenoclothes, neitherabodein any house, butinthetombs. Whenhe sawJesus, he cried out, andfell down beforehim, andwith a loudvoicesaid, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Sonof Godmost high? I beseechthee, tormentmenot. ( Forhe had commandedtheuncleanspiritto comeout oftheman. Foroftentimesit had caughthim: andhe was keptboundwith chainsandin fetters; andhe brokethebands, and was drivenofthedevilintothewilderness.) AndJesusaskedhim, saying, Whatisthyname? Andhesaid, Legion: becausemanydevilswere enteredintohim. Andthey besoughthimthathe would notcommandthemto go outintothedeep. Andthere wastherean herdof manyswinefeedingonthemountain: andthey besoughthimthathe would sufferthemto enterintothem. Andhe sufferedthem. Thenwentthedevilsout oftheman, and enteredintotheswine: andtheherdran violentlydowna steep placeintothelake, andwere choked. Whenthey that fed them sawwhat was done, they fled, andwentand told it inthecityandinthecountry. Thenthey went outto seewhat was done; andcametoJesus, andfoundtheman, out ofwhomthedevilswere departed, sittingatthefeetof Jesus, clothed, andin his right mind: andthey were afraid. They also which saw it toldthemby what meanshe that was possessed of the devilswas healed. Thenthewholemultitudeof thecountry of the Gadarenes round aboutbesoughthimto departfromthem; forthey were takenwith greatfear: andhewent upintotheship, and returned back again. Nowthemanout ofwhomthedevilswere departedbesoughthimthat he might bewithhim: butJesussent him away, saying, Returnto thine ownhouse, andshow how great thingsGod hath done unto thee. Andhe went his way, and publishedthroughoutthewholecityhow great thingsJesushad doneunto him. Andit came to pass, that, when Jesuswas returned, thepeople gladly receivedhim: forthey wereallwaiting forhim. And, behold, there camea mannamedJairus, andhewasa rulerof thesynagogue: andhe fell downatJesus' feet, and besoughthimthat he would comeintohishouse: Forhehadone onlydaughter, abouttwelveyears of age, andshelay a dying. Butas hewentthepeoplethrongedhim. Anda womanhavinganissueof bloodtwelveyears, whichhad spentallher livinguponphysicians, neithercouldbe healedofany, Camebehind him, and touchedtheborderof hisgarment: andimmediatelyherissueof bloodstaunched. AndJesussaid, Whotouchedme? Whenalldenied, Peterandtheythat were withhimsaid, Master, themultitudethrongtheeandpress thee, andsayestthou, Whotouchedme? AndJesussaid, Somebody hath touchedme: forIperceive that virtue is gone out ofme. Andwhen thewomansawthatshe was nothid, she cametrembling, andfalling down beforehim, she declaredunto himbeforeallthepeopleforwhatcauseshe had touchedhim, andhowshe was healedimmediately. Andhesaidunto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thyfaith hath made thee whole; goinpeace. While heyetspake, there comethonefromtheruler of the synagogue's house, sayingto him, Thydaughteris dead; troublenottheMaster. Butwhen Jesusheard it, he answeredhim, saying, Fearnot: believeonly, and she shall be made whole. Andwhen he cameintothehouse, he sufferedno manto go in, savePeter, andJames, andJohn, andthefatherandthemotherof themaiden. Andallwept, andbewailedher: buthesaid, Weepnot; she is not dead, butsleepeth. Andthey laughed him to scorn, knowingthatshe was dead. Andheputthem allout, andtookherby thehand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. Andherspiritcame again, andshe arosestraightway: andhe commandedto givehermeat.
