AndJosephalsowent upfromGalilee, out ofthe cityof Nazareth, intoJudea, untothe cityof David, whichis calledBethlehem; because( hewasofthe houseandlineageof David:) To be taxedwithMaryhisespousedwife, beinggreat with child. Andso it was, that, while theywerethere, thedayswere accomplishedthat sheshould be delivered. Andshe brought forthherfirstbornson, andwrapped him in swaddling clothes, andlaidhimina manger; becausethere wasnoroomfor themintheinn. Andthere wereinthesamecountryshepherdsabiding inthe field, keepingwatchovertheirflockby night. Andwhen they had fulfilledthedays, as theyreturned, thechildJesustarried behindinJerusalem; andJosephandhismotherknewnot of it. Butthey, supposinghimto have beeninthecompany, wenta day's journey; andthey soughthimamong their kinsfolkandacquaintance. Andwhen they foundhimnot, they turned back againtoJerusalem, seekinghim. Andit came to pass, that afterthreedaysthey foundhiminthetemple, sittinginthe midstof thedoctors, bothhearingthem, andasking them questions. Andallthat heardhimwere astonishedathisunderstandingandanswers. Andwhen they sawhim, they were amazed: andhismothersaiduntohim, Son, whyhast thou thusdealtwith us? behold, thyfatherand Ihave soughttheesorrowing. Andhe saiduntothem, How is it that ye soughtme? wist ye notthatImustbeaboutmy Father's business? Andtheyunderstoodnotthesayingwhichhe spakeunto them. Andhe went downwiththem, andcametoNazareth, andwassubject untothem: buthismotherkeptallthesesayingsinherheart. AndJesusincreasedin wisdomandstature, andin favorwithGodandman.
