AndaftersixdaysJesustakethPeter, James, andJohnhisbrother, andbringeth them upintoa highmountainapart, Andwas transfiguredbeforethem: andhisfacedid shineasthesun, andhisraimentwaswhiteasthelight. And, behold, there appearedunto themMosesandElijahtalkingwithhim. ThenansweredPeter, and saidunto Jesus, Lord, it isgoodfor usto behere: ifthou wilt, let us makeherethreetabernacles; onefor thee, andonefor Moses, andonefor Elijah. While heyetspake, behold, a brightcloudovershadowedthem: andbeholda voiceoutof thecloud, which said, ThisismybelovedSon, inwhomI am well pleased; hearye him. Andwhen thedisciplesheard it, they fellontheirface, andwere sore afraid. AndJesuscameand touchedthem, andsaid, Arise, and be not afraid. Andwhen they had lifted uptheireyes, they sawno man, saveJesusonly. Andas theycame downfromthemountain, Jesuschargedthem, saying, Tellthevision to no man, untiltheSon of man be risen againfrom the dead. Andhisdisciplesaskedhim, saying, WhythensaythescribesthatElijahmustfirstcome AndJesusansweredand saidunto them, Elijahtruly shall firstcome, andrestore all things. But I say unto you, ThatElijah is comealready, and they knewhimnot, but have doneuntohimwhatsoever they listed. LikewiseshallalsotheSon of mansufferofthem. Thenthedisciplesunderstoodthathe spakeunto themofJohntheBaptist. Andwhen theywere cometothemultitude, there cameto hima certain man, kneeling downto him, andsaying, Lord, have mercyon myson: forhe is lunatic, andsorevexed: forofttimeshe fallethintothefire, andoftintothewater. AndI broughthimto thydisciples, andthey couldnotcurehim. ThenJesusansweredand said, Ofaithlessandperversegeneration, how long shall I bewithyou? how long shall I sufferyou? bringhimhither to me. AndJesusrebukedthe devil; andhedepartedout ofhim: andthechildwas curedfromthat veryhour. Thencamethedisciplesto Jesusapart, and said, Whycouldnotwecast him out? AndJesussaidunto them, Because of yourunbelief: forverily I say unto you, If ye havefaithas a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto thismountain, Removehence to yonder place; and it shall remove; andnothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeitthiskind goeth not outbutbyprayerandfasting. Andwhile theyabodeinGalilee, Jesussaidunto them, TheSon of manshall be betrayedinto the hands of men: And they shall killhim, andthethirdday he shall be raised again. Andthey were exceeding sorry. Andwhen theywere cometoCapernaum, they that receivedtribute money cameto Peter, andsaid, Doth notyourmasterpaytribute? He saith, Yes. Andwhenhe was comeintothehouse, Jesuspreventedhim, saying, Whatthinkestthou, Simon? ofwhom do thekings of theearthtakecustomortribute? of their ownchildren, orofstrangers? Petersaithunto him, Ofstrangers. Jesussaithunto him, Thenarethechildrenfree. Notwithstanding, lest we should offendthem, go thou tothesea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast openedhismouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: thattake, andgive unto themformeandthee.
