And the LORDspokeuntoMoses, saying, Speakuntothe childrenof Israel, and takeofevery one of them a rodaccording to the houseof their fathers, ofalltheir princesaccording to the houseof their fatherstwelverods: writethou every man's nameuponhis rod. And thou shalt writeAaron's nameuponthe rodof Levi: foronerod shall be for the headof the houseof their fathers. And thou shalt lay them upin the tabernacleof the congregationbeforethe testimony, whereI will meetwith you. And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whomI shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to ceasefromme the murmuringsof the childrenof Israel, wherebytheymurmuragainstyou. And Mosesspokeuntothe childrenof Israel, and every oneof their princesgavehim a rodapiece, for each princeone, according to their fathers' houses, even twelverods: and the rodof Aaron was amongtheir rods. And Moseslaid upthe rodsbeforethe LORDin the tabernacleof witness. And it came to pass, that on the morrowMoseswentintothe tabernacleof witness; and, behold, the rodof Aaronfor the houseof Leviwas budded, and brought forthbuds, and bloomedblossoms, and yieldedalmonds. And Mosesbrought outallthe rodsfrom beforethe LORDuntoallthe childrenof Israel: and they looked, and tookevery manhis rod. And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, BringAaron's rodagain beforethe testimony, to be keptfor a tokenagainst the rebels; and thou shalt quite take awaytheir murmuringsfromme, that they dienot. And Mosesdid so : asthe LORDcommandedhim, sodidhe. And the childrenof IsraelspokeuntoMoses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we allperish. Whosoevercometh any thing nearuntothe tabernacleof the LORDshall die: shall we be consumedwith dying?
