And it came to passin the sixthyear, in the sixth month , in the fifth day of the month, as Isatin mine house, and the eldersof Judahsatbeforeme, that the handof the LordGODfellthereuponme. Then I beheld, and loa likenessas the appearanceof fire: from the appearanceof his loinseven downward, fire; and from his loinseven upward, as the appearanceof brightness, as the colorof amber. And he put forththe formof a hand, and tookme by a lockof mine head; and the spiritlifted me upbetweenthe earthand the heaven, and broughtme in the visionsof Godto Jerusalem, tothe doorof the innergatethat lookethtoward the north; where was the seatof the imageof jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy. And, behold, the gloryof the Godof Israel was there, according to the visionthatI sawin the plain. Then saidhe untome, Sonof man, lift upthine eyesnowthe waytoward the north. So I lifted upmine eyesthe waytoward the north, and beholdnorthwardat the gateof the altarthisimageof jealousyin the entry. He saidfurthermore untome, Sonof man, seestthouwhattheydo? even the greatabominationsthatthe houseof Israelcommittethhere, that I should go far offfrommy sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt seegreaterabominations. And he broughtme tothe doorof the court; and when I looked, beholdaholein the wall. Then saidhe untome, Sonof man, dignowin the wall: and when I had diggedin the wall, beholdadoor. And he saiduntome, Go in, and beholdthe wickedabominationsthattheydohere. So I went inand saw; and beholdeveryformof creeping things, and abominablebeasts, and allthe idolsof the houseof Israel, portrayeduponthe wallround about. And there stoodbeforethem seventymenof the ancientsof the houseof Israel, and in the midstof them stoodJaazaniahthe sonof Shaphan, with every manhis censerin his hand; and a thickcloudof incensewent up. Then saidhe untome, Sonof man, hast thou seenwhatthe ancientsof the houseof Israeldoin the dark, every manin the chambersof his imagery? forthey say, The LORDseethus not; the LORDhath forsakenthe earth. He saidalso untome, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt seegreaterabominationsthattheydo. Then he broughtme tothe doorof the gateof the LORD's housewhich was towardthe north; and, behold, theresatwomenweepingforTammuz. Then saidhe untome, Hast thou seen this , O sonof man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt seegreaterabominationsthan these. And he broughtme intothe innercourtof the LORD's house, and, behold, at the doorof the templeof the LORD, betweenthe porchand the altar, were about fiveand twentymen, with their backstowardthe templeof the LORD, and their facestoward the east; and theyworshipedthe suntoward the east. Then he saiduntome, Hast thou seen this , O sonof man? Is it a light thingto the houseof Judahthat they committhe abominationswhichthey commithere? forthey have filledthe landwith violence, and have returnedto provoke me to anger: and, lo, they putthe branchtotheir nose. Therefore will Ialsodealin fury: mine eyeshall notspare, neitherwill I have pity: and though they cryin mine earswith a loudvoice, yet will I nothearthem.
