Sing, O barren, thou that didst notbear; break forthinto singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst nottravail with child: formore are the childrenof the desolatethan the childrenof the married wife, saiththe LORD. Enlargethe placeof thy tent, and let them stretch forththe curtainsof thine habitations: sparenot, lengthenthy cords, and strengthenthy stakes; Forthou shalt break forthon the right handand on the left; and thy seedshall inheritthe Gentiles, and make the desolatecitiesto be inhabited. Fearnot; forthou shalt notbe ashamed: neitherbe thou confounded; forthou shalt notbe put to shame: forthou shalt forgetthe shameof thy youth, and shalt notrememberthe reproachof thy widowhoodany more. Forthy Maker is thine husband; the LORDof hosts is his name; and thy Redeemerthe Holy Oneof Israel; The Godof the wholeearthshall he be called. Forthe LORDhath calledthee as a womanforsakenand grievedin spirit, and a wifeof youth, whenthou wast refused, saiththy God. For a smallmomenthave I forsakenthee; but with greatmercieswill I gatherthee. In a littlewrathI hidmy facefromthee for a moment; but with everlastingkindnesswill I have mercyon thee, saiththe LORDthy Redeemer. Forthis is as the watersof Noahunto me: for as I have swornthat the watersof Noahshould no moregooverthe earth; sohave I swornthat I would not be wrothwiththee, nor rebukethee. Forthe mountainsshall depart, and the hillsbe removed; but my kindnessshall notdepartfromthee, neithershall the covenantof my peacebe removed, saiththe LORDthat hath mercyon thee. O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and notcomforted, behold, Iwill laythy stoneswith fair colors, and lay thy foundationswith sapphires. And I will makethy windowsof agates, and thy gatesof carbuncles, and allthy bordersof pleasantstones. And allthy children shall be taughtof the LORD; and great shall be the peaceof thy children. In righteousnessshalt thou be established: thou shalt be farfrom oppression; forthou shalt notfear: and from terror; forit shall notcome nearthee. Noweaponthat is formedagainstthee shall prosper; and everytongue that shall riseagainstthee in judgmentthou shalt condemn.
