These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall putyou out of the synagogues: yea, the timecometh, thatwhosoeverkillethyou will think that he doethGodservice. And these things I saidnot unto youat the beginning, because I waswithyou. Butnow I go my wayto him that sentme; andnoneofyouaskethme, Whithergoest thou? Butbecause I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filledyourheart. NeverthelessItellyouthetruth; It is expedient for youthatI go away: for if I go not away, theComforter will notcomeuntoyou; butif I depart, I will sendhimuntoyou. And when he is come, he will reprovetheworldofsin, andofrighteousness, andofjudgment: Ofsin, because they believenotonme; Ofrighteousness, because I gotomyFather, and ye seemenomore; Ofjudgment, becausetheprince of thisworld is judged. I haveyet many things to say unto you, but ye cannotbear them now. Howbeitwhenhe, theSpirit of truth, is come, he will guideyouintoalltruth: for he shall notspeakofhimself; butwhatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will showyou things to come. He shall glorifyme: for he shall receiveofmine, and shall show it unto you. All thingsthattheFatherhatharemine: thereforesaid I, that he shall takeofmine, and shall show it unto you. A little while, and ye shall notseeme: andagain, a little while, and ye shall seeme, becauseIgototheFather. Thensaid some ofhisdisciplesamongthemselves, Whatisthisthathe saithunto us, A little while, andye shall notseeme: andagain, a little while, andye shall seeme: and, BecauseIgototheFather? They saidtherefore, Whatisthisthathe saith, A little while? we cannot tellwhathe saith. NowJesusknewthatthey were desirousto askhim, andsaidunto them, Do ye inquireamongyourselvesofthat I said, A little while, and ye shall notseeme: andagain, a little while, and ye shall seeme? Verily, verily, I say unto you, Thatye shall weepandlament, buttheworld shall rejoice: andye shall be sorrowful, butyoursorrow shall be turnedintojoy. A womanwhen she is in travailhathsorrow, becauseherhour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of thechild, she rememberethnomoretheanguish, forjoythat a man is bornintotheworld. Andyenowthereforehavesorrow: but I will seeyouagain, andyourheart shall rejoice, andyourjoy no mantakethfromyou. Andinthatday ye shallaskmenothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall asktheFatherinmyname, he will give it you. Hitherto have yeaskednothinginmyname: ask, and ye shall receive, thatyourjoy may befull. These things have I spoken unto youinproverbs: but the timecometh, when I shall nomorespeak unto youinproverbs, but I shall showyouplainlyoftheFather. Atthatday ye shall askinmyname: and I saynot unto you, thatI will praytheFatherforyou: FortheFatherhimselflovethyou, becauseye have lovedme, and have believedthatI came outfromGod. I came forthfromtheFather, and am comeintotheworld: again, I leavetheworld, andgototheFather. Hisdisciplessaidunto him, Lo, nowspeakestthou plainly, andspeakestnoproverb. Noware we surethatthou knowestall things, andneedestnotthatany manshould askthee: bythiswe believethatthou camest forthfromGod. Jesusansweredthem, Do ye nowbelieve? Behold, the hourcometh, yea, is nowcome, that ye shall be scattered, every manto his own, and shall leavemealone: and yet I amnotalone, becausetheFatheriswithme. These things I have spoken unto you, thatinme ye might havepeace. Intheworld ye shall havetribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcometheworld.
