Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enterethnotbythedoorintothesheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the sameis a thiefand a robber. But he that entereth inbythedooristheshepherd of thesheep. To himtheporteropeneth; andthesheephearhisvoice: and he calleth his ownsheepbyname, and leadeth them out. Andwhen he putteth forth his ownsheep, he goethbeforethem, andthesheepfollowhim: for they knowhisvoice. And a stranger will they notfollow, but will fleefromhim: for they knownotthevoice of strangers. ThisparablespakeJesusunto them: buttheyunderstoodnotwhat thingsthey werewhichhe spakeunto them. ThensaidJesusunto themagain, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Iamthedoor of thesheep. Allthat ever camebeforemearethievesandrobbers: butthesheep did nothearthem. Iamthedoor: bymeif any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go inandout, andfindpasture. Thethiefcomethnot, but for tosteal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am comethat they might havelife, and that they might have it more abundantly. Iamthegoodshepherd: thegoodshepherdgivethhislifeforthesheep. But he that is a hireling, andnottheshepherd, whoseownthesheeparenot, seeththewolfcoming, andleaveththesheep, andfleeth: andthewolfcatcheththem, andscattereththesheep. Thehirelingfleeth, because he is a hireling, andcarethnotforthesheep. Iamthegoodshepherd, andknowmy sheep, and am knownofmine. AstheFatherknowethme, even so know ItheFather: and I lay downmylifeforthesheep. Andothersheep I have, whicharenotofthisfold: them alsoImustbring, and they shall hearmyvoice; and there shall beonefold, and oneshepherd. Therefore doth my Fatherloveme, becauseI lay downmylife, that I might takeitagain. No mantakethitfromme, butI lay it downofmyself. I havepower to lay it down, and I havepower to takeitagain. Thiscommandment have I receivedofmyFather. There wasa divisionthereforeagainamongtheJewsforthesesayings. Andmanyofthemsaid, He hatha devil, andis mad; whyhearye him? Otherssaid, Thesearenotthewordsof him that hath a devil. Canadevilopenthe eyesof the blind? Andit wasatJerusalemthefeast of the dedication, andit waswinter. AndJesuswalkedinthetempleinSolomon's porch. Thencame the Jews round abouthim, andsaidunto him, How longdost thou make us to doubt? IfthoubetheChrist, tellusplainly. Jesusansweredthem, I toldyou, and ye believednot: theworksthatIdoinmyFather's name, they bear witnessofme. Butyebelievenot, because ye arenotofmysheep, as I said unto you. Mysheephearmyvoice, and Iknowthem, and they followme: And Igive unto themeternallife; and they shall neverperish, neither shall any man pluckthem out ofmyhand. MyFather, whichgave them me, isgreater than all; andno man is able to pluck them out ofmyFather's hand. Iand my Fatherareone. ThentheJewstook upstonesagaintostonehim. Jesusansweredthem, Manygoodworks have I showedyoufrommyFather; forwhich of thoseworks do ye stoneme? TheJewsansweredhim, saying, Fora goodworkwe stonetheenot; butforblasphemy; andbecausethat thou, beinga man, makestthyselfGod. Jesusansweredthem, Is it notwritteninyourlaw, Isaid, Ye aregods If he calledthemgods, untowhomtheword of Godcame, andtheScripturecannot be broken; Sayye of him, whomtheFather hath sanctified, andsentintotheworld, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? If I donottheworks of myFather, believemenot. Butif I do, though ye believenotme, believetheworks: that ye may know, andbelieve, thattheFather is inme, and Iinhim. Thereforethey soughtagainto takehim: buthe escapedout oftheirhand, Andwent awayagainbeyondJordanintotheplacewhereJohnat firstbaptized; andtherehe abode. Andmanyresorteduntohim, andsaid, Johndidnomiracle: butall thingsthatJohnspakeofthis manweretrue. Andmanybelievedonhimthere.
