Woeto Ariel, to Ariel, the city where Daviddwelt! addye yeartoyear; let them killsacrifices. Yet I will distressAriel, and there shall beheavinessand sorrow: and it shall beunto me as Ariel. And I will campagainstthee round about, and will lay siegeagainstthee with a mount, and I will raisefortsagainstthee. And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speakout of the ground, and thy speechshall be lowout of the dust, and thy voiceshall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speechshall whisperout of the dust. Moreover the multitudeof thy strangersshall belike smalldust, and the multitudeof the terrible ones shall be as chaffthat passeth away: yea, it shall beat an instantsuddenly. Thou shalt be visitedofthe LORDof hostswith thunder, and with earthquake, and greatnoise, with stormand tempest, and the flameof devouringfire. And the multitudeof allthe nationsthat fightagainstAriel, even allthat fightagainst her and her munition, and that distressher, shall beas a dreamof a nightvision. It shall even beas whena hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soulis empty: or as whena thirsty mandreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soulhath appetite: soshall the multitudeof allthe nationsbe, that fightagainstmountZion. Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but notwith wine; they stagger, but notwith strong drink. Forthe LORDhath poured outuponyou the spiritof deep sleep, and hath closedyour eyes: the prophetsand your rulers, the seershath he covered. And the visionof allis becomeunto you as the wordsof a bookthat is sealed, which men delivertoone that is learned, saying, Readthis, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; forit is sealed: And the bookis deliveredtohim thatis not learned, saying, Readthis, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lordsaid, Forasmuchas thispeopledraw near me with their mouth, and with their lipsdo honorme, but have removed their heart farfromme, and their feartowardme istaughtby the preceptof men: Therefore, behold, I will proceedto do a marvelous workamongthispeople, even a marvelous workand a wonder: for the wisdomof their wise men shall perish, and the understandingof their prudent men shall be hid. Woeunto them that seek deepto hidetheir counselfrom the LORD, and their worksarein the dark, and they say, Whoseethus? and whoknowethus? Surelyyour turning of things upside downshall be esteemedas the potter's clay: forshall the worksayof him that madeit, He mademe not? or shall the thing framedsayof him that framedit, He had no understanding? Is it notyeta verylittle while, and Lebanonshall be turnedinto a fruitful field, and the fruitful fieldshall be esteemedas a forest? And in thatdayshall the deafhearthe wordsof the book, and the eyesof the blindshall seeout of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meekalso shall increase their joyin the LORD, and the pooramong menshall rejoicein the Holy Oneof Israel. Forthe terrible oneis brought to naught, and the scorneris consumed, and allthat watchfor iniquityare cut off: That make a man an offenderfor a word, and lay a snarefor him that reprovethin the gate, and turn asidethe justfor a thing of naught. Thereforethussaiththe LORD, whoredeemedAbraham, concerningthe houseof Jacob, Jacobshall notnowbe ashamed, neithershall his facenowwax pale. But whenhe seethhis children, the workof mine hands, in the midstof him, they shall sanctifymy name, and sanctifythe Holy Oneof Jacob, and shall fearthe Godof Israel. They also that erredin spiritshall cometo understanding, and they that murmuredshall learndoctrine.
