A falsebalance is abominationto the LORD: but a justweight is his delight. When pridecometh, then comethshame: but withthe lowly is wisdom. The righteousnessof the perfectshall directhis way: but the wickedshall fallby his own wickedness. The righteousnessof the uprightshall deliverthem: but transgressorsshall be takenin their own naughtiness. When a wickedmandieth, his expectationshall perish: and the hopeof unjust men perisheth. The righteousis deliveredout of trouble, and the wickedcomethin his stead. A hypocritewith his mouthdestroyethhis neighbor: but through knowledgeshall the justbe delivered. When it goeth wellwith the righteous, the cityrejoiceth: and when the wickedperish, there is shouting. By the blessingof the uprightthe cityis exalted: but it is overthrownby the mouthof the wicked. He that is voidof wisdomdespisethhis neighbor: but a manof understandingholdeth his peace. A talebearerrevealethsecrets: but he that is of a faithfulspiritconcealeththe matter. Where nocounsel is , the peoplefall: but in the multitudeof counselors there is safety. He that is suretyfor a strangershall smart for it : and he that hatethsuretishipis sure. A graciouswomanretainethhonor: and strong men retainriches. The mercifulmandoeth goodto his own soul: but he that is crueltroublethhis own flesh. The wickedworketha deceitfulwork: but to him that sowethrighteousness shall be a surereward. Asrighteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursuethevil pursueth it to his own death. He that troublethhis own houseshall inheritthe wind: and the fool shall be servantto the wiseof heart. The fruitof the righteous is a treeof life; and he that winnethsouls is wise. Behold, the righteousshall be recompensedin the earth: much morethe wickedand the sinner.
