Askye now, and seewhethera mandoth travail with child? whereforedo I seeeverymanwith his handsonhis loins, as a woman in travail, and allfacesare turnedinto paleness? Alas! forthatday is great, so that none is like it: it is even the timeof Jacob's trouble; but he shall be savedout ofit. For it shall come to passin thatday, saiththe LORDof hosts, that I will breakhis yokefrom offthy neck, and will burstthy bonds, and strangersshall nomoreservethemselves of him: But they shall servethe LORDtheir God, and Davidtheir king, whomI will raise upunto them. Therefore fearthounot, O my servantJacob, saiththe LORD; neitherbe dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will savethee from afar, and thy seedfrom the landof their captivity; and Jacobshall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and noneshall make him afraid. ForI am withthee, saiththe LORD, to savethee: thoughI makea full endof allnationswhitherI have scatteredthee, yetwill I notmakea full endof thee: but I will correctthee in measure, and will notleave thee altogether unpunished. Forthussaiththe LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. There is noneto pleadthy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast nohealingmedicines. Allthy lovershave forgottenthee; they seekthee not; forI have woundedthee with the woundof an enemy, with the chastisementof a cruelone, forthe multitudeof thine iniquity; because thy sinswere increased. Whycriestthou forthine affliction? thy sorrow is incurableforthe multitudeof thine iniquity: because thy sinswere increased, I have donethesethings unto thee. Thereforeallthey that devourthee shall be devoured; and allthine adversaries, every oneof them, shall gointo captivity; and they that spoilthee shall bea spoil, and allthat preyupon thee will I givefor a prey. ForI will restorehealthunto thee, and I will healthee of thy wounds, saiththe LORD; becausethey calledthee an Outcast, saying , This is Zion, whom noman seekethafter. Thussaiththe LORD; Behold, I will bring againthe captivityof Jacob's tents, and have mercyon his dwelling places; and the cityshall be builtuponher own heap, and the palaceshall remainafterthe mannerthereof. And out ofthem shall proceedthanksgivingand the voiceof them that make merry: and I will multiplythem, and they shall notbe few; I will also glorifythem, and they shall notbe small. Their childrenalso shall beas formerly, and their congregationshall be establishedbeforeme, and I will punishallthat oppressthem. And their noblesshall beofthemselves, and their governorshall proceedfrom the midstof them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approachuntome: forwho is thisthatengagedhis heartto approachuntome? saiththe LORD. And ye shall bemy people, and Iwill beyour God. Behold, the whirlwindof the LORDgoeth forthwith fury, a continuingwhirlwind: it shall fall with painuponthe headof the wicked. The fierceangerof the LORDshall notreturn, untilhe have done it , and untilhe have performedthe intentsof his heart: in the latterdaysye shall considerit.
