Lovenotsleep, lestthou come to poverty; openthine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfiedwith bread. It is naught, it is naught, saiththe buyer: but when he is gone his way, thenhe boasteth. There isgold, and a multitudeof rubies: but the lipsof knowledge are a preciousjewel. Takehis garmentthatis surety for a stranger: and take a pledgeof him fora strange woman. Breadof deceit is sweetto a man; but afterwardshis mouthshall be filledwith gravel. Every purposeis establishedby counsel: and with good advicemakewar. He that goeth about as a talebearerrevealethsecrets: therefore meddlenotwith him that flatterethwith his lips. Whoso cursethhis fatheror his mother, his lampshall be put outin obscuredarkness. An inheritance may be gotten hastilyat the beginning; but the endthereof shall notbe blessed. Saynotthou, I will recompenseevil; but waiton the LORD, and he shall savethee. Divers weights are an abominationunto the LORD; and a falsebalance is notgood. Man's goings are of the LORD; howcan a manthen understandhis own way? It is a snareto the man who devoureth that which is holy, and aftervowsto make inquiry. A wisekingscattereththe wicked, and bringeththe wheeloverthem. The spiritof man is the candleof the LORD, searchingallthe inward partsof the belly. Mercyand truthpreservethe king: and his throneis upheldby mercy. The gloryof young men is their strength: and the beautyof old men is the gray head. The bluenessof a woundcleanseth awayevil: so do stripesthe inward partsof the belly.
