To the chief Musician, A Psalmof David. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me neverbe ashamed: deliverme in thy righteousness. Bow downthine eartome; deliverme speedily: bethou my strongrock, for a houseof defenseto saveme. Forthou art my rockand my fortress; therefore for thy name's sakeleadme, and guideme. Pull me outof the netthatthey have laid privilyfor me: forthou art my strength. Into thine handI commitmy spirit: thou hast redeemedme, O LORDGodof truth. I have hatedthem that regardlyingvanities: but Itrustinthe LORD. I will be gladand rejoicein thy mercy: forthou hast consideredmy trouble; thou hast knownmy soulin adversities; And hast notshut me upinto the handof the enemy: thou hast setmy feetin a large room. Have mercyupon me, O LORD, forI am in trouble: mine eyeis consumedwith grief, yea , my souland my belly. Formy lifeis spentwith grief, and my yearswith sighing: my strengthfailethbecause of mine iniquity, and my bonesare consumed. I wasa reproachamong allmine enemies, but especiallyamong my neighbors, and a fearto mine acquaintance: they that did seeme withoutfledfromme. I am forgottenas a dead manout of mind: I amlike a brokenvessel. ForI have heardthe slanderof many: fear was on every side: while they took counseltogetheragainstme, they devisedto take awaymy life. But Itrustedinthee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliverme from the handof mine enemies, and from them that persecuteme. Make thy faceto shineuponthy servant: saveme for thy mercies' sake. Let me notbe ashamed, O LORD; forI have called uponthee: let the wickedbe ashamed, and let them be silentin the grave. Let the lyinglipsbe put to silence; which speakgrievous thingsproudlyand contemptuouslyagainstthe righteous. Oh howgreat is thy goodness, whichthou hast laid upfor them that fearthee; which thou hast wroughtfor them that trustin thee beforethe sonsof men! Thou shalt hidethem in the secretof thy presencefrom the prideof man: thou shalt keep them secretlyin a pavilionfrom the strifeof tongues. Blessed be the LORD: forhe hath showed me his marvelous kindnessin a strongcity. For Isaidin my haste, I am cut offfrom beforethine eyes: neverthelessthou heardestthe voiceof my supplicationswhen I crieduntothee. O lovethe LORD, allye his saints: for the LORDpreserveththe faithful, and plentifullyrewardeththe prouddoer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthenyour heart, allye that hopein the LORD.
