Then Solomonbeganto buildthe houseof the LORDat Jerusalemin mountMoriah, where the LORD appearedunto Davidhis father, in the placethatDavidhad preparedin the threshingfloorof Ornanthe Jebusite. And he beganto buildin the second day of the secondmonth, in the fourthyearof his reign. Now these are the things wherein Solomonwas instructedfor the buildingof the houseof God. The lengthby cubitsafter the firstmeasure was threescorecubits, and the breadthtwentycubits. And the porchthat was inthe front of the house , the length of it was according tothe breadthof the house, twentycubits, and the height was a hundredand twenty: and he overlaidit withinwith puregold. And the greaterhousehe ceiledwith firtree, which he overlaidwith finegold, and setthereonpalm treesand chains. And he garnishedthe housewith preciousstonesfor beauty: and the gold was goldof Parvaim. He overlaidalso the house, the beams, the posts, and the wallsthereof, and the doorsthereof, with gold; and gravedcherubimsonthe walls. And he madethe most holyhouse, the lengthwhereof was according tothe breadthof the house, twentycubits, and the breadththereof twentycubits: and he overlaidit with finegold, amounting to sixhundredtalents. And the weightof the nails was fiftyshekelsof gold. And he overlaidthe upper chamberswith gold. And in the most holyhousehe madetwocherubimsof imagework, and overlaidthem with gold. And the wingsof the cherubims were twentycubitslong: onewing of the one cherub was fivecubits, reachingto the wallof the house: and the otherwing was likewise fivecubits, reachingto the wingof the othercherub. And one wingof the othercherub was fivecubits, reachingto the wallof the house: and the otherwing was fivecubits also , joiningto the wingof the othercherub. The wingsof thesecherubimsspread themselves forthtwentycubits: and theystoodontheir feet, and their faces were inward. And he madethe veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wroughtcherubimsthereon. Also he madebeforethe housetwopillarsof thirtyand fivecubitshigh, and the chapiterthat was onthe topof each of them was fivecubits. And he madechains, as in the oracle, and put them onthe headsof the pillars; and madea hundredpomegranates, and put them on the chains. And he reared upthe pillarsbeforethe temple, oneon the right hand, and the otheron the left; and calledthe nameof that on the right handJachin, and the nameof that on the leftBoaz.
