The prieststhe Levites, and allthe tribeof Levi, shall havenopartnor inheritancewithIsrael: they shall eatthe offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. Therefore shall they havenoinheritanceamongtheir brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, ashe hath saidunto them. And thisshall bethe priest's duefromthe people, fromthem that offera sacrifice, whether it be oxorsheep; and they shall giveunto the priestthe shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstof the fleeceof thy sheep, shalt thou givehim. Forthe LORDthy Godhath chosenhim out of allthy tribes, to standto ministerin the nameof the LORD, himand his sonsforever. And ifa Levitecomefrom anyof thy gatesout of allIsrael, wherehesojourned, and comewith allthe desireof his minduntothe placewhichthe LORDshall choose; Then he shall ministerin the nameof the LORDhis God, as allhis brethrenthe Levites do , which standtherebeforethe LORD. They shall have like portionsto eat, besidethat which cometh of the saleofhis patrimony. Whenthouart comeintothe landwhichthe LORDthy Godgiveththee, thou shalt notlearnto doafter the abominationsof thosenations. There shall notbe foundamong you any one that maketh his sonor his daughterto pass throughthe fire, or that usethdivination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulterwith familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. Forallthat dothese things are an abominationunto the LORD: and becauseof theseabominationsthe LORDthy Goddoth drive them outfrom beforethee. Thou shalt beperfectwiththe LORDthy God. Forthesenations, whichthoushalt possess, hearkeneduntoobservers of times, and untodiviners: but as for thee, the LORDthy Godhath notsufferedthee so to do . The LORDthy Godwill raise upunto thee a Prophetfrom the midstof thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; untohim ye shall hearken; According to allthatthou desiredstofthe LORDthy Godin Horebin the dayof the assembly, saying, Let me nothearagainthe voiceof the LORDmy God, neitherlet me seethisgreatfireany more, that I dienot. And the LORDsaiduntome, They have well spoken that whichthey have spoken. I will raise them upa Prophetfrom amongtheir brethren, like unto thee, and will putmy wordsin his mouth; and he shall speakuntothem allthatI shall commandhim. And it shall come to pass, that whosoeverwill nothearkenuntomy wordswhichhe shall speakin my name, Iwill require it ofhim. Butthe prophet, whichshall presumeto speaka wordin my name, whichI have notcommandedhim to speak, or thatshall speakin the nameof othergods, even thatprophetshall die. And ifthou sayin thine heart, Howshall we knowthe wordwhichthe LORDhath notspoken? Whena prophetspeakethin the nameof the LORD, if the thingfollownot, norcome to pass, that is the thingwhichthe LORDhath notspoken, but the prophethath spokenit presumptuously: thou shalt notbe afraidofhim.
